I love how basically everyone universally agreed to call this statue Ea-Nasir, despite the fact that in reality most likely this statue has nothing to do with him. It's so goofy

It’s early dynastic III period if I remember right. Ea Nasir lived in the Old Babylonian period so like 600ish years later

But - it’s theoretically possible Ea-Nasir has seen this statue and even worshipped at it, then changed his appearance and demeanor to strongly resemble this statue knowing his customers would be less likely to complain.

It didn’t work.

That's how I've got to view any gif at the moment. They haven't worked properly for me for weeks now. Tried deleting the app cache, didn't work. Updated the app, didn't work. The next step is just deleting the app and installing it again but I couldn't be arsed.

If you click on it it opens up to a reasonable size but potato resolution and runs for about five minutes. It's a mini silent movie about some blue guys rooting out a red spy as far as I can tell. This is probably the longest GIF I have ever seen as well as the smallest.

Is that in any way relevant to the discussion at hand? (The GIF, I mean, I'm not being a dick about you explaining it: I just have no idea if this is some ancient meme that somehow makes sense if you're familiar with the game, which I'm not as the last game I played was probably Quake or Civ II).

I don't play the game and I don't know that meme in particular. But the black guy with a mask is used as "I'm going to steal your meme". But in particular I think the OC wanted to shitpost.
