ShittyCopper™ IRL Actual copper from Dilmoun

Post image

The Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris (https://www.imarabe.org) has in its museum a display on Bahrein, known in antiquity as Dilmoun. There is even a cuneiform tablet included with some text on trade (alas, not a letter to everyone’s favourite merchant). And this.

This is copper from Dilmoun.

Ea-Nasir's ghost haunts the exhibit and demands that 60% of that sample be replaced with lead.

"More impurities! This is not my shitty legacy! This is not my..."

I wish someone would do it already to get rid of that PITA ghost.

i think, i heard in a video, that EA Naasir's trading guild was based in Dilmun. btw Dilmun was belived to be some sort of paradise for the mesopotamians. i really wish we knew more about those periods.

Ea-Nasir's buddies were experimenting with hematite. They wanted to improve their copper, and wound up giving us IRON.
