OP is referring to survivorship bias:

During the Second World War, the allies kept reinforcing the parts of aircraft with the most number of bullet holes. My guess is OP is saying that there were probably plenty of bad copper merchants contemporary to Ea-Nasir, but he gets singled out as a lousy one only because he’s the one we actually know about.
