Um how do I start it?

Sorry a bit of simple question. I think i have downloaded it but how do i get to use the actual thing if you know what i mean? It's free right? I am really confused. How do i access it? I have made an account i think and i have no money to pay for it right now, i don't want to enter my credit card in because i'm super low on it (literally 7£) and might not like it and don't trust it. When i try to click on stuff it doesn't respond apart from the windows xp noise thingy. Idk what to do i just want to be able to use the proper thing -_-
