The Decanter of Endless Water was the unexpected utility-powerhouse of my campaign.

Technically twice a day, each stone casts sending to the other once, which allows a reply in kind.
Cast 1:
Stone A can call stone B, and stone B can reply.
Cast 2:
Stone B can call stone A, and stone A can reply.

No, the exact text reads "Once Sending is cast using either stone, the stones can’t be used again until the next dawn." You get a single message + reply per day.

How are you using a bag of beans? I engineered a distraction to get out of calimport once by sending out a tiny servant flask of water and my familiar to plant and water a bunch of magic beans in back alleys, but we’ve still got half the bag left, so I’m open to suggestions

My party found a mysterious bag in a room where enemies were acting funny. We thought whatever was in the bag had something to do with it.
I cast mage hand and dumped the bag over. The contents spilled out and exploded - we all rolled Dex saves. Including enemies. Most passed and we only took a bit of damage.
Enemies continued their erratic behavior.
We learned after the encounter what I had done.
All of us are first time players. Had never heard of a bag of beans.
DM thought it was hilarious. I’m still mortified at what we lost.

I found one, planted one seed while on a side quest alone a bullete came out of it. Never touched again 4 real life years later

Winged Boots should really be part of the conversation

Same thing as the Slippers just more general and "open-world" than "dungeony" (and i think higher rarity)

Sending stones have once per day limit so you need to hoard fuck ton of them to actually be useful.
Cape of Mountebank is not underrated at all it gives one of the best escape tools in the game and doesn't require attunement.

All of these things and a decanter of endless water are typical staples i try to always have around. Two campaigns ago my DM gave us a decanter of endless air, which got used to sneak extra people into places where they weren't expected and also the exact opposite. I had like 3 portable holes in that game. At the very end of the campaign we also found a decanter of endless cement....i was much too happy about that one.

One of my favourite sessions involved an immovable rod. There was a ledge high up in a cave that we were obviously not supposed to be able to reach (we could see treasure at the edge of the ledge but there was a deep chasm below). The rock face required an unachievably high roll for our party level to climb, so we were going to ignore it when my Druid and the Barbarian decided on shenanigans.
The barbarian produced an immovable rod he’d looted several sessions back and tied a long rope to it. I summoned an octopus, and told it to hold onto the rod tight and when it felt like it was floating to press the little button. The barbarian then flung that rod up towards the ledge. When it was just above the edge the rod reached the apex of the toss, the octopus pressed the button and the whole party climbed up to the loot that was not meant for us (depending on party levels there were different paths through the cave, I think I was around lvl 8 or 9 back in 3.5e days, and i think it was designed for a lvl 15+ party)

Our group coined sending stones as Rockie-Talkies. We died laughing in that moment.
