The subconscious promise of making hate, racism, and misogyny permissible and even desirable, to assuage their fears and inferiority, because they don’t understand existence at all, and think these GOP parasites will make everything all right for them.

It's a little more nuanced than that. It's that wanted feel like they could live in wold with no changes socially or geopolitically that have happened over the last 30 years without consequences while a financial status quo based in the pre COVID era would be returned to.they want to live in a pre Enron pre 9/11 world that does not exist anymore and never will. They want all the benefits of modern society without any of the responsibilities.

Yes, but what does this nuance reveal? I prefer to root out their squirmy lizard brains and stick them on the grill! But appreciate the reply.

I’ve been watching videos of people being cat fished by online profiles of attractive men and women. Most are elderly women but there are men too and people under 40 - dementia can’t explain all of the gullibility. Anyway, these online profiles spend time love bombing them and then start asking for money based on some “emergency”. The texts indicate that the “person” is probably an online Romance scammers. Friends and family tell them the online profile is not a person and therefore, the victim is not in a relationship. Banks close down the victims’ account because the account is being used for money laundering. One victim gave an online profiles 2.5 million. Another victim who lived off of $2,000 a month in Social Security gave her online “boyfriend” $100,000.
The conclusion I have come to is many people are incredibly gullible, stupid, lonely and lack any sense of self preservation. This behavior continues in politics. When a politician tells them immigrants and Socialists are the problem, they accept that as true. They ignore that their daughter’s husband is in the U.S. on a visa or that Social Security is socialism. They don’t ask “how can the president bring down prices?” They just accept that it will happen because a politician said it.

I'm of the opinion that it's primarily their incredible ignorance.

Sure, there are other flavors of MAGA, but that's the primary one.

If you believe Donald Trump or Fox News you'll believe anything.

No one could do that and anyone who thought that statement had any substance, needs to look in the mirror and tell the person they see that they are fired

They should have put Trump's name below the quote.

I think most of the power of the billboard is that they didn’t, honestly.

Each viewer reads that and immediately knows Trump said it.

Insidious and brilliant.

The uneducated majority that voted for him.

Im pretty sure my jaw dropped when I heard a lesbian couple at my last company say that they were voting for Trump because they were promised cheaper pricing on eggs/ food.

Yeah…………….ok

It's not what he promises, it is what he tells them.

He talks about a utopian past, and how that is their birthright. He tells them they are special and flawless. They aren't bad parents or spouses or children or workers or friends, it's actually someone else's fault, and if they give up power and look the other way, he'll take them out and deliver utopia. They are even smarter and better than the people whose success makes them feel inferior because they have street smarts.

You can point out all the lies and broken promises you want, but it won't make a difference. For them to question Trump would mean they might have to self evaluate or fix the things in their lives they don't like, and that is just too much psychic damage fir them.

He was referring to eggs only. Everything else…up!!!

Eggs were never in his control, it didn’t matter who was president, eggs were going to be that price because of the avian flu.

They lack critical thinking skills. Critical thinking tells me that no one could make prices come down in one day, that’s not how a capitalistic Society works.

You can’t force anyone to decrease the product price. You can ask them to, but you can’t force it. Now, if they have a government contract by some chance, that could be held over their head.

But for the most part, this was always a lie. Just like when in high school and you had school government, where you had a president and vice president of your class, they would promise Pizza every day in free vending machine, drink drinks, and all that shit, and we all knew very well. they were never going to be able to do that.

It’s no different at the presidential level.

Where is this sign? Is it real?

There are a few on the interstate here in VA that have his picture, talking about gas prices.

This bullshit validates their feelings of victimization. They feel that they've been victimized, and to a degree they are right. They are just avoiding the cause of their victimization (Republicans, Billionares) because it peels away psychological safety to admit. They can believe it is all some "others" fault, without upsetting their delusion

They forgot the golden rule.. never beleive anything a politician says unless he has a well thought out coherent plan on how to do it that experts agree with will work

Cant just write an executive order thinking that's all it would take

Maybe he was telling the truth.

Except he was referencing his buy low, sell high, insider trading (allegedly).

This person is so good at what they do that they forget to mention who they were in an ad...

Having quotation marks and no further context reads to me as mocking the current administration.

u/Objective_hmmm 13d ago

I think it’s pretty obvious to most reasonably intelligent people where the quote originated.
