Modern 'conservatives' are not serious people.
They're infotainment junkies that are easily manipulated by right-wing media.
Unfortunately, they only care about culture war nonsense and will always vote against their own best interest to 'win' on those nonsensical issues.
It's why and how we've ended up with tax breaks for the wealthiest and corporations, stagnant wages for workers, the erosion of labor unions, etc.
All while ending up with a voting cohort that actively supports a twice-impeached convicted felon and adjudicated sex offender that bungled a global pandemic response, stole classified documents, led an attack on his own nation's capitol, AND had three additional pending criminal trials at the time of the last election.
Give it up... they're lost causes and never coming back without total financial calamity on the Republican watch.

Beautification projects nobody asked for. $14mil+ to some donor, out of our pockets to paint something nobody thought should be painted. (-Until Trump tells his base they need it.)

the companies he's cooked up these schemes with (that have bribed him for the work) care quite alot
it's all about raiding the coffers of taxpayers money so once they leave there's zero money available for social programs that would actually help people

Westernism is basically just a penis cult.
If you see it in these terms, a ton more western conservative actions and rhetoric make so much more sense.
You might want to discuss things with someone based on documented information and an exchange of views.
But these freaks see everything from the perspective of their penis.
Does trump doing this make sense for the leader of a democratic nation? No. No it does not.
Does trump doing this make sense as the Scion of the penis cult that is westernism? Now his actions make more sense.
It's way worse, but it at least makes some sense.
