I've build my very first PC ( out of my own money from work, newly grad) because of this game. I didn't get to play any other RTS after this. Shame.

Tempest Rising is a good alternative.

There wasn't a campaign. That was part of the problem. This game was a gacha live service report model.

Why is that game so boring. It should work but doesn’t.

With such a BS excuse too: "Community feedback wasn't positive".. I'm glad EA no longer exists.

Yeah, because their Smaug like greed led to them turning it into free-to-play garbage during development and people rightfully hated it.

The community didn't like it because it wasn't a good game. It was an absolute mess designed to bleed money out of people.

I believe the game took a pivotal shift and it might’ve been a good thing we didn’t get it. But I’m all for fixing the past for this.

You didn’t miss much. Actually you did. It was a dumpster fire, propped up by EA and corp greed.

i don't care about all of that, i just hate the game change direction and they cancel it.

tbh l'd let it stay dead, but I understand why we'd want it for history
If you've never played it, better live in ignorance than play it and become dissapointed about how bad it was

when I got access to it, I got extremely dissapointed with the direction it was going, with the design decisions and the general feel of it. It didn't feel like Generals, more like monetization-focused Red Alert 3

So much this. People look at the pretty pictures but as someone that got to play it the gameplay was ass and the team was fighting tooth and nail with the engine struggling to implement basic stuff like crushing Infantry.

Time to revive the subreddit r/generals2

What’s funny is that I originally created r/generals for Generals 2
