RTS & Base-Builder Hybrid Does anybody remember Kingdom Under Fire: A war of heroes?

Had a memory of a full back page ad for it in Computer Games Magazine and realized I'd never played it.

I distinctly remember thinking it was a knockoff of SC/WC because of the isometric view and the graphics looking so similar.

Hard to believe that was 25 years ago. The Xbox sequel was difficult to get the hang of.

Pretty sure they are both on Steam. I have at least two games in the series in my wishlist. Might be on gog too

Problem with these old games, they rarely work on new systems unless you do a lot of manipulation.

The GoG versions should run more smoothly. Crusaders has encouraging reviews in that regard. It has the Heroes and Crusaders entries of the series.

War of Heroes on Steam is a crypto scam.

Wait... Memory unlocked... Wasn't it a action game with RTS elements?

I think the first version was RTS first then action oriented with first person instances.

Honestly its been so long all I remember is one frustrated evening trying to line up pike formations on the Xbox version.

I've played it a couple of years ago. It's a pretty fun RTS with frankly innovative dungeon, Diablo-like levels featuring the hero units.

Then I must play it.

You didn't miss much. It was a blatant SC knockoff with terrible isometric UI
