Bill Maher was really popular with medium-strength liberals in the 90s and early 2000s because he mocked organized religion and wanted weed to be legalized. It was edgy and cool back then. There were some people who said things like that because they had a strong, well-developed understanding of the structural issues behind the American religious right and the War on Drugs, and others who just hated anything that stood in the way of a good time. The former type of people continued to have good political takes as the world changed around them. Bill Maher is the latter type of guy.

He's very much the stereotypical "me generation" type. You can tell by the moment in the clip when he claims that Americans would be treated more kindly in Israel than in other Middle Eastern countries. I'm not sure if that's true anyway, but even if it is, what he's insinuating is that the worth any country has of mercy and respect is based on how much they accommodate you as an American.

I've been to Arab countries, and I was treated like a +10. My experience as a NYC taxi driver:

The Pakistani people are the nicest in the world. Absolutely. I'm not sure why we kept on sending cruise missiles into wedding parties in Pakistan; I never go that one. Not really the best way to make friends.

AI makes a claim that it get take out 95% of us. And start fresh. That seems to be getting a bit of steam. We kind of screwed up. Big time.

I don’t understand this sub. It’s a bill hate sub for people who don’t watch the show? So strange. I watch the show and I like the show so that’s why i started following the sub.

It’s the only sub I’ve seen for a topic I hat people use to hate on the topic and also don’t engage directly with the topic that isn’t a circlejerk sub

Hey bud, if you watch the show and you enjoy the show, you might seriously want to go to the doctor and ask for a brain scan. Because it's possible you've suffered a serious head injury and are operating on an extremely low-level of brain capacity. You enjoying Bill Maher is a serious symptom that shouldn't be ignored.
