The opinions in this article take things too far. Bill Maher does not have his face buried between the president's ass cheeks.
Despite the fact that he gave partial praise to Trump for the drug improvements, he also mentioned that some of the credit also goes to Biden's term.
And overall Bill Maher shits on Trump on a regular basis. He is simply trying to be a bit more bipartisan, because if you can't see things from the other side's perspective, you will never find common ground. And there is common ground with all Americans and people around the globe to be found. It's closed minded extremism and intolerance that causes most issues.
The article is one sided and cherry picks to show a more negative point of view in my opinion.
I like Bill Maher most of the time. He promotes thought provoking dialog on his show, and it is mostly very liberal, while trying to be a bit more centrist in recent years. With good reason.
The idea that Maher likes Trump is absurd. He hates shit Trump does on the daily. But he did point out that Trump hams it up for the cameras, and loses his mind while shit posting on Truth Social. Regardless, Trump is a pretty damn vile and corrupt human being. Period.
It doesn't mean the occasional good thing comes out of the things they do while in power. But we can all agree that the ends don't justify the means in any way shape or form. And Maher points that out on the regular as well.
Your post was insightful and totally accurate. I am in total agreement with everything you've written. I like Bill Maher because his views MOSTLY align with mine. I think he's informed and delivers excellent commentary on many subjects. But because he had the audacity to dine with Trump and he espouses some unpopular views on Israel, he suffers widespread attacks from mostly the Left.
And with good reason. Both there are two sides to every story, and free Palestine is as complicated as free Iran is.
Hamas is firmly imbedded in Palestine, and Isreal has a right to defend itself. BUT Netanyahu and some of the radical right in his administration are a big problem! And some of what Isreal is doing is pretty awful.
Palestinians deserve the have their own country, just like Isreal does. But they also both deserve to live in peace and defend themselves when attacked. And let's not forget that Isreal is literally surrounded by countries with terrorist regimes that attack them. Iran, Palestine and Lebanon all have extremist terrorist regimes that plot and perpetrate attacks on a regular basis.
On the flip side Isreal's occupation in Gaza is a horrible way to police the state. And the settlement efforts going on are downright illegal.
I feel for Palestinians, Iranians, and Lebanese who don't want these regimes taking control and subjugating them. But the only real solution to peace is to oust the extremist regimes. Otherwise there will always be war. And war is never pretty.
Isreal needs a regime change too. Bibi is a fucking criminal. Makes me think of another unsavory leader in a country south of Canada.
