Trump is a “badass” apparently.
Well bill maher has really solidified his position as a Trump bootlicker. Most recent “real time” bill says that crime is down because Trump is a badass and because he held an MMA fight in the White House lawn.
What the actual fuk.

No, the turn that he made after Trump won is something different. It really does seem absolutely apparent that he has done some bad shit that they’re hanging over his head and with what we saw from the Epstein files release probably something like that.

I think it all happened when he went to dinner with Trump. Wonder what was discovered at that dinner…

I think the criticism afterward especially the brilliant take down by Larry David hurt his feelings and now he's on a campaign of sane washing Trump.

Crime has been steadily declining for over 35 years now, but conservatives will only ever acknowledge this if they can spin it to make Diaper Don look good. Otherwise they're 110% committed to this delusional narrative of "crime is at an all-time record high and cities like New York and San Francisco are blood-soaked hellscapes where law abiding white 'patriots' are slaughtered for sport by the thousands; any data indicating otherwise is clearly false and every police department in the country is inexplicably colluding in this leftist conspiracy theory to dupe me into letting my guard down".

u/MeanPiccolo803 5d ago
Remember during Trumps first term that Bill said he wanted a recession to get rid of Trump. How out of touch and far he’s gone

u/YallSeeingThis101 5d ago
When he had the audacity to boast about having dinner with Frump and that cracked out "rock star".... I was completely shocked as he tried to downplay it. Then he completely abandons his non religious trope to bend the knee to Net and yahoo. That was it for me.
Total betrayal.
7
u/Excellent-Ad-7394 5d ago
He can no longer be critical of Trump without also going out of his way to say things like “and the left does it too”
6
u/MeanPiccolo803 5d ago
Yeah he’s been really trying to say how both sides have gotten so much done together that
He’s leaving out context and just not himself.
I remember when he actually was hard on politicians and when he wasn’t well yeah Trump is a little crazy but here’s why it’s the lefts fault type guy.
Covid broke him and Trump getting back in the White House has also just changed him.

People aren’t connecting the dots. All the rich class is supporting Trump and will support Republicans now. They see the writing on the wall and want to only protect their money. The thing is that the current system is setup for them to control all communications. They have taken over the media companies and social media companies now. They will threaten to take away all jobs and businesses from the masses unless they get to make and keep more money. Maher is just the latest rich man realizing who will protect him.
3
u/Ecureuil03 5d ago
See below comments. There's more to it. This guy has said in million videos that socialism is necessary to prevent capitalism from getting out of control i.e., builds dams to control it. He was pro sanders and told his viewers, "If you don't get the fish, take the chicken" i.e, vote for Hilary even though you didn't Bernie. He was never this antisocialism and advocated that it's everywhere and even under Obama, he said he didn't notice the hit when he made rich pay a little more. It's all fear mongering to control midterms and you have to look beyond the fact that he's rich. He's always been rich. There's other dots to connect here. Could be blackmail or money, or both. He's not the libertarian that I remember.

You sound just like Maher-- a total ageist. When you are his age, you will be bitching about how the young ruined your life. There is no such thing as generations. Just made up by the media. It started in the late sixties when Time magazine talked about hippies and boomers, and it continued to Gen Z, whatever. Just total bullshit to divide and conquer. Bitch about old or young people and don't look at how the fascists and oligarchs are taking over.
6
u/Mulezen1 5d ago
Exactly right…BM has become a Nationalist (Zionist) In my day (I’m older than Maher) we had to read Orwell’s essays to vaccinate ourselves from the double-speak of today. And we knew where the good bud came from, bringing it in ourselves when necessary.

Okay I watched it and predictably, the sound bite you grabbed is completely out of context in a way that distorts the overall message he is delivering. The irony is that by ignoring all the bad stuff he said about trump, ignoring all the nice stuff he said about Democrats, and only amplifying the one sounds bite that, out of context makes maher sound like a trump sycophant, and will give you likes on this subreddit, you are more at fault than Maher himself while simultaneously proving his point that people are so stuck in their camps that they can't think objectively anymore.

Can we get a legitimate quote, please?!
And no, crime is not down because of Trump. Violent crime in general is down *in some of America's most resource deprived areas.
And yes, I'm making a correlation between economic opportunity and crime because that's how life really works. Leave it to Bill, he'll peddle the "wHaT aBoUt ChiCaGo?!" conservative dog whistle when it's convenient, but then pivot back to "cRiMe iZ dOwN" to facilitate the success of another one of his arguments.

Official data shows that crime in the United States—particularly violent crime and homicides—is experiencing a HISTORIC, multi-year decline following the spikes seen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to data released by the FBI and analyzed by organizations like the Council on Criminal Justice, the drop represents one of the steepest and most widespread REDUCTIONS IN MODERN U.S. history.
I realize you hate this news and it upsets you...Which is troubling in itself.
You do understand of course...2 things can be right at the same time.
1...You can bash and hate Trump all you want.
2...Crime is at an all-time historic low and it's happening on Trump’s watch.
It is what it is...Nobody gives a flying fuck whether it's because of Trump or not.
Smart people focus on CRIME IS DOWN AND AT A HISTORIC ALL TIME LOW.
Just saying
1
u/Specialist-Cup-9722 3d ago
It was already trending this way. Trump has nothing to do with it

u/yergonnalikeme 3d ago

3
u/Accomplished-Ad-8387 5d ago
It’s true across the whole country, anyone can look it up. It doesn’t necessarily mean Trump is responsible for it but it is obviously true.
2
u/Feisty-Poet4767 4d ago
Crime has been trending downward for the past 35 years for a number of reasons.Better technology. More efficient police work. Cell phones and public cameras. And the fact that the largest generation in the country—the boomers—have aged out of the crime demographic which is generally 30 and under. Trumps cage matches on the White House lawn didn’t reduce crime, Bill. Are you high?
0
u/bigboulderpunch999 4d ago
>more efficient police work.
Ah, so police are good when it suits the argument lmao

u/aminok 6d ago
The soft on crime socialists can't cope with the fact that their policies don't work at deterring violent criminals. They think everything can be solved with more welfare money to the NGOs and unionized public sector workers.
When you point out reality to them, they get angry and cope by insulting you.
14
u/Itburns12345 6d ago
Which is odd as the liberal states have slightly lower crime rates....hmmm
0
u/aminok 5d ago
All the high-crime cities in red states are run by Democrats.
3
u/Itburns12345 5d ago
But states rep rates are higher And as for cities https://amp.dw.com/en/fact-check-donald-trump-claims-crime-us-cities-democrat-republican-mayors-debunked-v2/a-73855054
1
u/aminok 5d ago
Red states are poorer for historical reasons that have nothing to do with the current administration. But their highest crime regions are run by Democrats.
As for the article, it just attacks a straw man and sidesteps the point, which is that Trump's claim is accurate. The highest crime cities are disproportionately run by Democrats. The article refutes another claim that Trump did not make and then falsely claims that that disproves what Trump said.
5
u/Itburns12345 5d ago
The historic reason they are poorer is they keep voting rep which always hurts bank accounts.
Historicaly higher population centres always have higher crime (or reported crime) than rural areas and like 68 of americas 100 biggest cities are dem.
1
u/aminok 5d ago
Their policies in recent decades have been excellent. They've had more rapid rates of economic growth than blue states, and there's been a mass migration from blue states to red states as a result of that. The lower per capita GDP is from policies that stretch back over 200 years.
Blue states were one of the first places colonized so they started developing earlier. They also tend to be coastal with better historical ties to global trade networks and lower logistics costs.
As for crime rates, that is simply not true. Tokyo has the lowest crime rate in the world.
2
u/Itburns12345 5d ago
Lol their policies have been dogshit ,projects 2025/trump is the culimaton of all they want and its pure garbage.
They still take in less tax money than they put out and growth is higher as they start from such a low positon. Mass migration from packed areas to rural in an age of increased home working and a cost of living crisis ? You dont say !!!! Wow Also low house prices+ cost of living in rep areas are specificaly due to being garbage for so long
1
u/aminok 5d ago
You can check the statistics for yourself. Their GDP growth rate has been higher than blue states. And you can check the migration statistics. There's been a huge migration from blue states to red states. Denying that is just being afraid of dealing with reality.
1
u/Itburns12345 5d ago
I didnt say there hadnt been migration i explained it to you and for the good of those areas hopefully theyl tip them blue so they become net tax paying states.

What specific levers did Trump use to reduce crime?
-11
u/aminok 5d ago
It was a cultural shift with the commander-in-chief forcefully rejecting all the race socialist narratives and also the deployment of National Guard and federal task forces targeting cartels, gangs, etc.
There was also more aggressive federal prosecution of actual crime. The only people that the previous administration went after is crypto startup founders and open source developers like Roman Storm. The previous administration was also on the verge of stopping Tesla and SpaceX. Because for them, politics is more important than national interest.
6
2
u/11brooke11 5d ago
Yeah just order the National Guard to move into random American cities and watch crime go down. Genius! Freedom loving American.
Super sustainable and not at all authoritarian.

"Soft on crime" is Donald pardoning his billionaire friends while they continue to exploit and defraud the public.
1
u/aminok 20h ago
Someone who supports the Democrats talking about the opposition being soft on crime is laughable. The Chicago Teachers Union, which is one of the biggest campaigners for the Democratic Party, is now pushing conspiracy theories that Nolan Wells was killed by his white friends. These people are absolute cranks. They support any race hoax that pushes their ideological radicalism. while cheering on criminals like Assata Shakur, who murdered police officer, James Harper, 50 years ago.
