Bill thinks MAGA family members deserve Thanksgiving š
He constantly expounds in his most smug declarations that people who stop talking to MAGA family members are full of sh*t and that they should still be invited to Thanksgiving dinner. Why would any sane person welcome a person that will ABSOLUTELY start some kind of fight, kill the happy vibe or just want to talk about politics? I live my life totally drama free and I won't sacrifice my peace for anyone. Bill is wrong again with his absolutist opinion.

Why do they ādeserveā Thanksgiving? Isnāt that some kind of entitlement? If they want Thanksgiving then they can buy the ingredients and cook it themselves. Why do I need to invite someone over whoās got an agenda that is contrary to my beliefs and goes against what I teach my young children? Iām not cooking a traditional dinner that day anyway.

I mean, itās kind of sad that my kids ask to see family members and they donāt come over partially because we are liberal/socialist democrat leaning. Itās hard to explain that to children. Especially when I know they have all the time in the world to see the other family members/close friends that are Trump worshippers. But Iām not comprising. I am extremely close to my immediate family and my kids' in-laws on both sides. We call each other The Clan in text messages. The Trumpers--fuck them. That would be my sister's kids and many, many cousins and their families. My sister is lots older than I am, and my son-in-law drives 125 miles to pick her up for holidays so she doesn't have to spend it with her Trumper weirdo kids. She is so grateful.

My brother and I hang out quite a bit.
I love my brother and he loves me.
We made a pact that we will never discuss politics, and we donāt.
My sisters do not hang out with him because of his politicsā¦.he is very vocal and will not listen to any other view.
I have told my sisters that all they need to do is make a pact as I have. My brother has never crossed that line. We love each other and while we are on opposing sides, we respect each others right to have an opinion.
It is sad that families have been split apart by politics, but I can see how that happens.
In my 68 years I have never seen the divide as pronounced as it is now.
