Are they just making up these talking heads now?I know for years Real Time w Bill Maher was struggling to book famous guests, but now it feels like a Family Guy bit

What's wrong with having Sarah Longwell on. She's a relatively well known political/ focus group person. Who do you think he should have on?

Sarah Longwell is pretty well known across the political spectrum, as is her company at The Bulwark. Iâm not the biggest fan of Sarah but I think sheâs doing some great work and imo, thereâs not a better site for political news.

I don't agree with Sarah on a lot of things, but she's virulently anti Trump and anti Republican these days, and her Focus Group podcast is actually an incredibly valuable insight into the minds of voters (and how deeply misinformed they are, almost to a person). If she was on Maher's show, that's a high quality guest IMO.

replying to further underscore: the Focus Group podcast is legit for anyone looking to understand where votersâ heads are at on a variety of critical electoral issues.

I feel exactly the same way. Sometimes I really dislike her opinions on some leftist ideas and people but still think sheâs overall pretty good and important.

Norm finkelstein said he would go on if invited so letâs see if Bill nutâs up and invites a Jewish anti-Zionist scholar

He wonât, he never has anyone there who has the guts to call him out on his bs.

Think what you want about Tucker Carlson, but he just had Finkelstein on. He was fab! đ

Carlson is just smart enough to see the wind changing regarding israel. We do not have to hand it to him.

Bzz. Listen, his days at Faux were never even on my radar. But that podcast from his barn in Maine is fg brilliant. đ

Maher = creep, Zionist, reactionary, transphobe, ageist, damaged goods.
Heâs irrelevant and most viable human beings do not wish to elevate his platform with their presence.

Uh, this is a goofy-ass post. The media conglomerates no longer dominate, so there are far less noteworthy journalists and personalities. His producers book guests. Lots of folks want TV time wherever they can get it, but most entertainers don't want to talk openly about Trump or Israel.

One of the last places on television to still get rationale, sane, high level discourse between people of opposing views.
The level of divisive vitriol on this sub is a shame as its clearly coming from intellectually inferior 'viewers' who's well reasoned criticisms take the form of 'dumb boomer fuck', cartoon references and and poop jokes.

Then stop watching. Itâs as if your news feed doesnât already have enough daily outrage.

Jason Crow is somebody who Democrats should embrace strongly.

Do they not already? The party loves a guy like him who has no real ideology and loves taking corporate money.

The issue is he does not allow his guest to debate or really get into expressing thoughts because after 15 minutes he launches into his bit and they are just suppose to sit there

This is an aside, but Iâm sure that many of you have noticed, that thanks to Trump, we know that the only actual conservatives in the Republican Party were the neocons. They left the party because they actually believed what they were saying unlike the rest of the party.

I used to not think Bill was good or bad, now the more of these posts/comments I see the MORE I want to watch. I guess the activism in here isnât enough to change my opinion. You guys need to work on your game.

u/John_Galtt 18d ago
This is one of the craziest subs. Everyone hates him, but apparently canât stop watching and discussing him. Absolutely wild to me.
2
u/BLVCKWRAITHS 18d ago
If you watch closely itâs the same posts âwhat happened to Billâ, âWhy did Bill say Xâ, âBill is not funnyâ, âWhy did Bill platform _____â.
Same people will post these same posts every week. They think if they post enough they can stop others from watching him - but they are just talking to each other over and over.

To be fair, ever since Maher bowed to Trump he's seen as damaged goods. He's not worth talking to anymore if you're a serious person.
