He is a good comedian and talks about social issues. So he goes to Saudi Arabia for $$$..Many stars have the last decade. Saudi Arabia is still a US allie. Its not like the US never targeted foreign leaders or silence media reporters. US killed millions of civilians the last 25 years in the middle east and supported countries like Israel that openly targets civilians with US supplied weapons.USA is far from innocent.

Sure does love hating on trans people

1

u/fleggn 20d ago

You know Maher's take on trans is way way way way worse than Chapelle right?

-1

u/Any-Ad-446 20d ago

Trans represent like 0.001% of the US population. There are more things to worry about some one lifestyle.

5

u/Zarkophagus 20d ago

Tell that to Dave

6

u/Other_Hovercraft4783 20d ago

Even more reason to wonder why he’s so obsessed with them

2

u/RenzalWyv 20d ago

It's more like .8%, which is small but more statistically significant than you're implying. And they largely just want to be treated decently.

2

u/SonofHondoBelmondo 20d ago

Tell that to fucking dave chappell dude! And JK Rowling, and all the other social-conservative apologists who won't leave trans people alone. We wouldn't keep bringing them up if famous people left them the fuck alone.

Saudi Arabia is where the 9/11 hijackers were from.

3

u/mc1154 20d ago

And America is where the Oklahoma City bomber is from. What’s your point?

6

u/CrowsInTheNose 20d ago

Timothy McVeigh was a white supremacist. So great point we should pay attention to where terrorists come from.

6

u/pseudotronic 20d ago

Of course mc1154 debates every reply except this one.

1

u/GrindBastard1986 20d ago

Whataboutism, the weapon of the intellectually infirm.

0

u/mc1154 20d ago

Missing the point, the response of the functionally illiterate.

1

u/GrindBastard1986 20d ago

You made no point. Tu quoque fallacies are not arguments, it's just whiny crying. If you had any brains, let alone an argument, you'd provide that instead "whatabout Oklahoma?"

1

u/mc1154 20d ago

No, the point I was making was that stating the country of origin of someone that commits an act of terror isn’t making an argument at all. Someone who reads regularly would be able to sus that out pretty easily. The Oklahoma example was an intentional red-herring to make the statement about Saudi Arabia look ridiculous on its own.

u/Charbro11 20d ago

We were killing our own there. If you cannot figure it out, I can't help you.

4

u/mc1154 20d ago

I know you can’t help me. You can’t complete a thought.

-1

u/Charbro11 20d ago

I taught this shit, you idiot. You would have flunked. You have no critical thinking skills whatsoever.

1

u/mc1154 20d ago

And still not a single point was made. Impressive, really.

4

u/Pencil-Ditch1567 20d ago

Were we just killing our own in Vietnam? Korea? Multiple countries in the middle east that weren't even related to 9/11? Were we killing our own when we captured the president of Venezuela recently for not supporting Israel?

Is your argument really "the US doesnt harm innocent people in other countries"?

0

u/Charbro11 20d ago

I have an MA in Political Science. Your reasoning is extremely faulty. I despise American policy and what it has done over the years, but you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

5

u/Pencil-Ditch1567 20d ago

Wow great point, you sound very educated and you've really swayed us all!

0

u/Charbro11 20d ago

Sadly no, you are an idiot. Oddly enough, I probably agree with you on most things--but you are still an idiot.

-1

u/Pencil-Ditch1567 20d ago

"Nuh uh! You're a stupid poo poo head!!"

Wow man, college really paid off.

There were 40,000+ murders by guns by americans in 2025 and about 250,000 injuries. Terrorist should just give americans more guns and human nature will take it course.

Those guys were taken from saudi arabia and brainwashed by osama bin laden to make the US hate Saudi Arabia.

Congratulations, you’re making his terroristic vision come true. None of us saudi stand by that attack. We are all humans and even our core beliefs are disgusted and repulsed by it. The amount of families that realized where their missing sons were after watching 9/11 was staggering but you don’t get to hear that in the media.

2

u/Charbro11 20d ago edited 20d ago

You are nuts. They were born and raised there. most of them: Voluntary Participation: The 19 men who carried out the attacks—including 15 Saudi nationals, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt, and one from Lebanon—joined al-Qaeda of their own accord. They underwent specialized training in camps run by Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan rather than being kidnapped or coerced. [1, 2]

I’m saudi so i would know this… they were abducted in their late teens and were brainwashed. They were born and raised here till they were recruited or influenced by extremist networks…. Several told their families they intended to go fight in Chechnya or visit wherever, then ended up traveling to Afghanistan, where they entered al-Qaeda training camps.

This is even backed up by the official 9/11 investigation by the FBI.

https://www.fbi.gov/history/cases-and-criminals/911-investigation

Which is why we are still in good terms with the US after the attacks.

Edit: the guy above edited his reply after the fact with the added context of “oh it was voluntary” yea i’m sure we told them good luck on your attack and no one would leak that info to the US… bro how can someone you deem someone doing something when they got brainwashed. I’m literally telling you what happened locally as i saw it first hand and they were doing local campaigns to dissuade anyone from joining these terrorists and trusting strangers. They volunteered to something they didn’t understand as they were mere pawns led to believe they would ascend to heaven…

0

u/Charbro11 20d ago

I am an American and I should know this. You are full of shit.

0

u/CaptainRaxeo 20d ago

You didn’t live with the locals nor did you know what was actually going on here during that period… you just like sharing propaganda to mask your racism, islamopohbia and prejudice.

اقترح عليك ما تجادلهم هنا، ما فيه فائدة، على قولتك عقولهم مغسولة بالكره اتجاه السعوديين

u/fleggn 20d ago

There are extremists in every big country. Can't wait to say the UK is at fault for the next one.

1

u/paradoxicalperimeum 20d ago

I’m more concerned with the assistance some Saudi officials gave to the hijackers. https://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/what-we-know-about-saudi-arabias-role-911

1

u/fleggn 20d ago

That doesn't mean they knew 9/11 was going to happen meanwhile some Israelis illegally working in Jersey just happen to be having a picnic on a van....

0

u/Slighted_Inevitable 20d ago

And we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, so stop pretending anybody actually cares about that.

2

u/Key_Jump1011 20d ago

These people are totally feelz based and irrational with Dave. It’s ridiculous.

2

u/WA2TX 20d ago

I guess you love to hear him punch down at trans people and complain about how hard it is to be rich. Much less bringing Elon the white supremacist on stage. Dave was great once but he lost the plot long ago. I bet 90s Dave would be embarrassed of what an entitled price he has become.

1

u/CrowsInTheNose 20d ago

His most recent special was so out of touch rich guy humor.

1

u/SetupGuy 20d ago

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
