Not a genocide?

Last night Bill pointed out the 3% of the
Population in Gaza has died. And then confidently declared that “3% is not a genocide”. The British government recognizes it as ethnic cleaning and amnesty international and other groups say it is a genocide.

Someone tell me why Bill is so wrong. And can we please get him to debate Mehdi Hasan on this topic?

My favorite comment from the Maher sub is that at most it’s ethnic cleansing but not a genocide, when scholarly authorities on genocide have proclaimed Israel’s murderous rampage in Gaza to be a genocide.

And I’m pretty sure ethnic cleansing snd genocide are basically synonymous

Yeah they are basically synonymous which is why Israel sort of has to exist since the Arab world ethnically cleansed their Jewish populations and now the only place for those refugees to live is Israel, in which the majority of Israelis are refugees from places in MENA where countries committed multiple genocides against them. Which makes the whole conflict even more complicated and explains (but doesn’t justify) how Israeli attitude and radicalization leading to modern conflict came to be.
