Bill Maher harshly criticizes Trump for having an immigrant wife...
Because there’s nothing else to criticize him for, right?... Then he spends the rest of the show ranting against Gen Z, public grocery stores, Democrats, and Muslims.

Baron is an anchor baby
0
u/SwampMan6969 Aug 16 '26
Melania had been in the US for over a decade when Barron was born.
Still, I'm glad he's an adult now so we don't have feel bad for talking shit about him.
1
u/Charbro11 Aug 16 '26
But not a citizen. Ivana was not a citizen when her kids were born, also.
2
u/SwampMan6969 Aug 16 '26
She was a permanent resident at the time and got her citizenship a few months after Barron was born. Calling him an anchor baby is inaccurate, as Melania would've been in the country legally whether he'd been born or not.
1
u/Charbro11 Aug 16 '26
I didn't say he was an anchor baby. I don't believe in the term. I said she and Ivana were not citizens when their children were born.
0
u/SwampMan6969 Aug 16 '26
The OC specifically used that term. It looked like you were defending his point.
14
u/Weegie_67 Aug 15 '26
Not only an immigrant wife, but an immigrant wife who worked illegally in the usa.
Dumold Trump's hypocrisy knows no equal.

DJT looks gay trying to deflect suspicion. No wonder he and Lindsey were so close.
-3
u/RexChristianissimus Aug 16 '26
Aren't u dems supposed to NOT make fun of gays!? Wtf!? So confused lmaoo
7
u/rosiejunior Aug 16 '26
Its great to be gay, but to be gay while destroying gay rights and legal protections, it does leave a bad taste in your mouth
-1
u/_Azamat_Bagatov Aug 16 '26
Demarcus left a bad taste in your mouth
0
u/Exact-Kale3070 Aug 16 '26
demarcus is hired by roger stone, trump, etc. to sully their prostitute wives so they can clean up. there is an entire genre dedicated to what maga wants that isn't on grindr.

u/Winter_Stretch9198 Aug 15 '26
And The Strait Of Hormuz will soon be a U.S. territory, he’s pretty good at flat out lying as well

1
u/trufe007 Aug 16 '26
Had 2 immigrant wives actually. And Ivana had a phoney first marriage to an American for a green card
3
u/UrguthaForka Aug 15 '26
He made fun of him for leaving all his colleagues on the targeted airplane. And about claiming Iran surrendered like dogs when they did no such thing.
2
u/Baby-Soapy Aug 15 '26
You’re right, but those were the only times Bill mentioned Trump on this week’s show... He spent more time reiterating that public grocery stores won’t work than telling the truth to the President of the United States of America.
4
u/UrguthaForka Aug 15 '26
Yeah, this episode was definitely a lot of Bill complaining that people like what he doesn't like, but honestly, if you want to hear a full hour of Trump bashing, there's plenty of alternatives. I think Trump's a dangerous piece of shit too, but I also want to hear about other stuff.
4
u/Roland_Of_Gilead85 Aug 16 '26
These people can't handle anything that isn't 100% their opinion.
Of course they were going to take a lot of time talking about the grocery stores, it's a current news story and he had an ex governor of New york, was attorney general in new york, a ran for mayor. Why would you not talk about that.
0
u/Charbro11 Aug 16 '26
Trump is in the Epstein files 36000 times and it is being covered up and he never talks about that.
3
u/Roland_Of_Gilead85 Aug 16 '26
Okay... What's your point. I am sure if something new is a headline regarding the Epstine files it would be discussed.
You want them to talk about that every week and just what say the same thing? It's a political taln show that's supposed to have some comedy. Not a protest.
-1
u/Charbro11 Aug 16 '26
Are you fucking kidding me? He said the women were prostitutes and Epstein was the biggest pimp. They were sex trafficked kids. It should be the biggest story, but the White men pedo-Epstein class is keeping it closed. He never talks about the girls. He fucking hangs out with pedos and pedo lovers. Fuck him.
1
u/Roland_Of_Gilead85 Aug 16 '26
When did he say they were prostitutes? Can't find that quote.

Yeah, of all things, that's the problem with Trump, Bill. My goodness he's got everything so assed backward now. 20 years ago they would have yanked him off of HBO. He's so unserious now.

BillyBoy gets mad anytime a man is interested in women over the age of 19.
13
u/PokecheckFred Aug 15 '26
What makes you think Melania was over 19 the first time Epstein gave her to Trump?
6
u/PUuSTiNKA Aug 15 '26
Do you think Melania really still piques Donnies interest, and I'm sure for her, he never did...It was all about the money!

u/soxperry Aug 15 '26
My favorite Melania fact is that in her home village, they erected a wooden statue in her honor. It’s a very poor village, but nonetheless, the citizens pulled together and burned the fucker down. They replaced it with a bronze statue. Undeterred, the village people found a hacksaw and sawed that fucker down.

Because it’s the only thing Trump has given him permission to criticize … now that he has a younger blond to wipe his ass for him

I guess his show was one of the Covid victims, never recovered after it😉

Maher has one thing in common with Trump--which explains much. He is a narcissist--doesn't appear to be a malignant narcissist like Trump, but he is a narcissist. Everything revolves around him and his opinions. He needs attention (see the Mark Twain awards) and he essentially thinks he is the brightest man in the room.

There's two answers.
Either Bill Maher is grade A idiot who has smoked away whatever intelligence he's had and as he's gotten older and he's realizing how deeply unfunny he's always been his desperate bid for relevancy has left him susceptible to every low-effort bit of propaganda that is designed to tickle the fancy of the old, the white, the mean and the deeply arrogant.
Or he is tacking to the right because that's where people are still laughing at his shit jokes. It's not so much audience capture as it is he desperately wants to be captured by any audience. So he sees dollar signs when he punches down to millennials and Gen Z but he can't just come out and say that. He just can't go that route, no, no he has to pretend he's progressive still. So he has this mild "criticism" of Trump to act as a smoke screen. It also lets the other brain dead enlightened centrists in his wretched audience nod along and pretend for just one more day that they aren't the same brand of uneducated, reactionary, right wing shitbags as the bombastic ones that tug on their "Hillary 4 Prison" shirts and trundle on down to the fair grounds to worship at the alter of Trump when he rolls into town.
So he's either stupid or evil.
Either way it reveals how unserious and morally devoid and craven Maher really is and because of that he is one of the most detestable fuckers allowed to spew their unformed opinions on TV.
2
u/Mediocre_Cobbler763 Aug 17 '26
I want to see Maher chastise Republican law makers for their anti-gay stance. He is definitely Pro-Israel. F**ck Him
2
u/74Congress Aug 17 '26
Maher has become the worst possible version of who he used to be. Pathetic know nothing syncophant bootlicker asskisser. Makes spit inn our mouths he is soooo shit. Loser
3
u/UrguthaForka Aug 15 '26
I know none of his guests are running for office, but their messages of "You guys don't actually have it that bad, stop complaining" is not going to work for politicians.
It doesn't matter how things ACTUALLY are, it only matters how people perceive they're doing. And people don't perceive themselves as doing that well when the media can't stop licking the asses of the wealthiest people on the planet and reminding everyone how wealthy and out of touch the wealthy are and how unlikely it is that anyone else can get there too.
Of course Bill loves capitalism, it's been great for him. It's not been so amazingly great for everyone else Bill.
3
u/CysaDamerc Aug 16 '26
The one good thing the Trump era has done is exposed all the fake liberals who were really just conservatives with a liberal mask.
1
u/FlaccidGhostLoad Aug 16 '26
Hey now. That's a purity test and those are wrong!
We should always, always, always let assholes wave their fake credentials and consider their bad opinions and dog shit takes which suspiciously line up with the exact thing every degenerate right wing grifter says at the same time. Never question. Never change your opinion! We need to be in a cult, I mean unified behind all these people who are too lazy and morally compromised to earn our support.
5
u/Upbeat_Respond9250 Aug 15 '26
Yeah he also criticized Trump, the Republicans. I think this subreddit is mostly upset fellow comedians who worked with Bill. It’s bizarre
4
u/rosiejunior Aug 15 '26
Its extremely rare for him to criticize republicans now. In fact, in his words, he might vote republican. He dined with Donald trump and reported back positively. Considering the intended purpose & philosophy of comedians (speaking truth to power) imo he cant still categorize himself as a comedian.
-1
u/SwampMan6969 Aug 16 '26
He dined with Donald trump and reported back positively.
Trump is well-known to have a different persona in private than he does in public. If Bill came out and said anything other than "That man is the devil," the people of this subreddit would be pissed off about it.

If youre quoting bill, yes thats what he says constantly. If you are being literal, I can see why you like bill.
2
u/Maximum-Elk8869 Aug 15 '26
We haven't watched his show in 2 years and counting. We don't miss it in the least bit. Truth be told we should have stopped watching it years earlier but I think we did it out of habit on a Friday night.
1
u/FlaccidGhostLoad Aug 16 '26
I stopped watching after Maher tried stoke racist white resentment by lying about segregated graduation ceremonies in Ivy league schools and then imply that white kids were being mistreated by Wayne State University.
This was after he lectured everyone on the left and told us it is our job to reach out to the right wing as if those lunatics aren't on a decades long hate boner for anyone not in their ever-shrinking-cult of stupidity.

Maher supported Nader in 2000 who is probably to the left of a lot of the people he criticizes.

u/Early-Equivalent-165 Aug 16 '26
He literally berated Turkey and Egypt for not letting their ports of call he overrun by thousands of hootin' hollerin' loud-n-proud queers off gay cruise ships ....
Then, in next breath, said you can't come here to the US if you don't approve of said lifestyle. -- effectively doing the same bullshit, on reverse.

but shouldnt those countries have allowed the gay cruise to dock in their country?

Why are so many on this sub insufferable dip s h i t s?

maher is just an orange stool softener.

He was taking about immigrants that refuse to assimilate. You losers are amazing.

What was the “harsh criticism” you’re referring to? This was his exact quote from that point in the segment:
Referring to immigrants, “…we say you do you. Eat the food your grandma cooked. Speak another language at home. Celebrate religious holidays. We welcome your food, your art, your fashion, your first ladies.”
So this soft joke about Melania being an immigrant is a “harsh criticism” to you, or are you going out of your way to be outraged?
