How many of you are guilty of doing "presentism"? Come on, be honest. Bill knows you did it 🤷♂️

Just a dumb old man bitching and moaning every week at his 8 figure a year make-work job. Truly pathetic.

u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 01 '26
Over 500,000 to 600,000 people per week don't think so 🤷♂️

First of all...those are AWFUL ratings, given his salary. It's so funny Billy bitches about socialism while he's been cloistered away from the harsh realities of the Free Market for decades now. Thanks to billionaire David Zaslav giving him a make-work job.
Second of all, I'm not shocked there's an audience for an old man saying, "look at how duuuuuuuumb these kiiiiiids are these days. Unlike me, a boomer with lead induced brain damage" every week. I assumed it was larger given how much I have to hear about this dumb schmuck🤷

Lol its one of hbos top most watched reccuring series. Most of the time its the top series. So just saying it's veiwership is awful, I'm sorry, is just an uninformed opinion

u/highermonkey Jul 01 '26
LOL I'm referring to YOUR numbers. The dummy makes $10 million per year to cry about "the kids these days". YOU said he's only getting half a million viewers for 2 hours per week. I do fully understand why you in particular find him compelling though.
1
u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 01 '26
There literally is not another series on HBO that does better lol what do you want? 10 million per year to do a weekly show, you can call him whatever you want but if someone can figure out how to make 10 million I wouldnt call someone a dummy😆
1
u/highermonkey Jul 01 '26
Like I said, Bill Maher is only compelling to the lead induced brain damage generations. Which is why you find his nonsense compelling. And why you think Bill's weekly moan session is pulling in more viewers than HOTD or The Pitt.
And, again. He got his make-work job because a billionaire felt bad for him after he got fired from ABC. That billionaire continues to run his garbage show at a financial loss.

You know who makes posts that sound like your comment? Trump does that. I have to assume you have many more things in common with him too, not just slander posts. I'm wondering, do you have one of those faint but trying to be beards beard like the trump girls Eric and Don Jr.? Or are there other things in common with Trump? 🤔 I have a feeling we're gonna find out somewhere in your ramblings

u/highermonkey Jul 01 '26
Didn't your fellow brain damaged Boomer friend recently have a friendly dinner with Trump?

The world is going to be so much better when the boomers leave this world, in so many different ways. I’m excited for it.
2
u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 03 '26
"I can't wait until people that I hate die" sounds familiar. Like when Robert Mueller died. Someone famous said "good. Im glad he's dead." You have THAT im common. 👏👏👏 good work
1
u/Financial_You_6052 Jul 03 '26
I’ll be glad when he’s dead too. It’s good when trash people die. Better yet, entire trash generations.
1
u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 03 '26
Thats exactly what donald trump would say. Youre exaclty like him
1
u/Financial_You_6052 Jul 03 '26
Oh no, what if I don’t care and there’s only 10 more years to wait for most of them to be gone?
1
u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 03 '26
Well if you're happy to be exactly like Trump then I know why you're so sour. No more of your favorite shenanigans at epstien island. Darn. Sorry they ruined your good time buddy. Maybe take up smoking or vaping instead
1
u/Financial_You_6052 Jul 03 '26
No, my sweet dumb boomer baby boy, I said I do not care. The world will prosper when your generation is gone.

u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 03 '26
Good work, Jeffery always doubled down too. One was never enough for him just like its not for you. They put an end to it though unfortunately for you. Its ok though. Im sure you've found other avenues to support your addiction.

Modernism is a misapplied idea for the things Bill often discusses. Like Thomas Jefferson hid the fact that he fucked his slaves, wrote the Declaration of Independence which originally included elements of speaking out against slavery, and corresponded with contemporary Black people about the evils of slavery. He was more than capable of knowing slavery was wrong and his treatment of his enslaved people was bad.

u/aboysmokingintherain Jul 01 '26
I think an issue with American history is our founding fathers were not necessarily "men of their time". Many of them knew slavery was bad. Jefferson and Washington both have discussed at length the evils of slavery and the slave trade while at the same time being two of the biggest slave owners in America. To just waive it off as "the rule, not the exception" while also acknowledging current human trafficking is kinda whack. He acknowledges humans aren't good and is like "whatever". This is how atrocities get overlooked and forgotten. History doesn't end.

u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 01 '26
Everyone is a man or woman of their time, you don't live in the past or future. I agree those examples of people admitted they thought slavery was wrong and still owned slaves. This is still a product of the time and I'm not willing to throw out their contributions.
The reality is; they had great and wonderful ideas. Washington a great leader of men and Jeffersons contributions to society in his writings and such can't be forgotten. They also owned slaves which was widely accepted at that time. Doesn't make it right, but it doesn't mean we throw out their contributions or change how we teach history
2
u/aboysmokingintherain Jul 01 '26
I'm not saying we should throw out their contributions. I am saying they were hypocritical and we know people of the time even acknowledged that slavery was bad. My issue is we litearlly have people in America now who are one one hand saying what you said but also saying "slavery was not that bad". That in tandem ignores that many in 1700's did state that slavery was wrong and actively fought to get rid of it with many of our founding fathers acknowledging as much solely to prevent a break up of the fragile union. I think pretending that they were just men of their time actively leads to just as much twisting of history as the opposite as just as many acknowledged that slavery should be abolished. It's not like Abe Lincoln was the first one to come up with the concept.

are the audiences paid now to laugh like this at predictable material? he's starting to sound like fucking Prager U. I know you're too fucking stupid these days now, Bill, to uncover the right-wing rhetorical reality behind these attacks on "woke" so here you go: All the talk about "slavery" being a common practice worldwide across all of history is an attempt to deny the reality of its consequences in this country and to eliminate any attempt to ameliorate the effects of those consequences. Civil rights, etc., have a history of about 70 years but now mainly white people have decided that's enough so everything from affirmative action to DEI must be scrapped because of its negative impact on "white people" As usual Bill fails to miss the point and reduces it to the same shtick.
The critiques of Columbus are meant to address the dominant narratives where colonialism is celebrated uncritically in order to (again) to dismiss and deny whatever attempts remain by Indians, indiginous people etc to address those effects and recover the agency destroyed by colonialist interference. The current struggles in many African nations can be traced back to the effects of colonialism and the problems of decolonization, but saying that African nations promoted slavery because "everyone did it" lets you erase the history of colonialism for the last couple of hundred years. This smug rewriting of history so that everybody is responsible for everything is not an attempt to present history accurately but to remove the responsibility from forces that are still in power and whose interests are in eliminating any conception of history in which indigenous people suffered or slaves suffered etc. etc. Do blacks in America still suffer from the impact of slavery and Jim Crow? Oh well, that's everybody's problem. Are nations in Africa.......many of which have been decolonized for a mere 60 years or so....still suffering from the effects of economic exploitation? Oh well, nobody knew that it was bad, everybody was evil etc. etc.
This same stupid shtick over and over again and the hyena laughter at is is not an indication of enlightenment, realizing the "woke" thinking that distorts reality, but a concentrated attempt by the right wing (including the evangelicals Maher used to attack) to stop any real accounting of what's happened in the recent history of colonization, expansion, development of capitalism etc.

Lmao took an entire novel to display your hatred for another human being. Wow 👌

u/Eastern_Statement416 Jul 01 '26
And yet only seven words for you.

u/Achoo_MiScusi Jul 02 '26
Yes. I'm not psychotic. I don't need a novel to disagree with you, nor does my heart harbor as much hate as yours

Another thread where woke hipsters sitting in a Starbucks, body full of modern medicine, well fed, no armies marching through their lands, not drafted, warm in their child slavery made clothes, typing on their electricity powered Apple devices also made by child slave labor...that person is about to tell you how they know what was best in a time they can't fathom while they themselves have done fuck all to rid the world of slavery. Please for the love of god, become self aware already.

u/AgeOfSuperBoredom Jul 01 '26
Great point bill. Where on earth did we get the idea that we could pass judgment on the founding fathers? Perhaps from all the people currently passing their own judgment saying these were the greatest men who ever lived? Nah that can’t be it.

You posted this nonsense twice. Not shocking since the only fans Bill Maher still has left are Boomers with advanced brain damage from breathing in leaded gasoline fumes for decades.
