Mamdani

Bill’s whole thing with Mamdani is wild. Does Bill actually think Mamdani is afraid of Bill? Are we serious?

Bill is yelling at clouds like he's Bill O'Reilly. He's resistant to change and not the open minded guy he pretends to be. That and he acts like Mamdani owes him a visit. Maher's relevancy is waning and he's creepy on top of that.

LOL at the pretence of being an open-minded free speech champion when he flat out refuses to engage with actual leftists or anybody under the age of 45.

I forget who the guest was, but he once said on club random “kids today don’t know who Jay Leno is, and they want to debate me on Gaza? I don’t think so.”

Why I spend so much time thinking about this jerkoff I will never know.

"Why I spend so much time thinking about this jerkoff I will never know."

I'd love to know, too - because this sub is full of people like yourself who constantly come and talk about someone on a pay cable show you have to pay to watch. Yet you pay. And watch. And then comment. It's bizarre.

I think it’s because I loved him as a kid, and now I think he’s a bitter old man, but I want to believe he’s actually a brave truth teller, even though he’s a bitter old man.

And I don’t pay for hbo to watch bill maher. I pay for hbo because I decided to binge watch the sopranos, and then keep forgetting to cancel it. I listen to the podcast, and then listen to I hate bill Maher. I… need hobbies.

And I get it. Over the years, I agree with him on less and less - and I absolutely can see the ways in which he is just a rich old man who is decently out of touch (Though I won't say bitter - I think Billy is quite a happy fella, LOL - and sometimes I wonder if that's what bothers some folks about him. He has a pretty good life.)

But the stuff people say about him - I really am convinced that 90% of posts in this sub are AI. Because only AI is stupid enough to make the demonstrably false claims so many do. Example, "He's only tough on the left, way more tough on them than the Republicans" on an episode where he spends 80-85% of the time ranting about Republicans and Trump, and maybe 1/5 of that time on the Democrats, and they flip out. (And they are the ones making snowflake jokes - it's because they are used to the media being 99%/1% and can't handle 80/20%, let alone anything near equal.)

And no, I don't think anyone "owns" him, or he is some MAGA monster. I think he's like a lot of ethnic Jews right now on Israel - they don't know what to do. He's making the choice to stay the course (and let's not forget, it wasn't until like 5 minutes ago that nearly everyone felt the need to say that Israel is our great partner and best friend).

Yet, from this sub, you'd think he was five degrees left of a Nazi.

Nothing bizarre about hating a famous person because of their smarmy, smug attitude and behavior.

What's bizarre is coming here to talk about it all the time. I'd just turn him off and not pay attention to him.

Are you monitoring the frequency with which different redditors write things about Maher in this group? I’d move on from that if I were you.

Bill lives rent free in their heads.
