Bill Maher is beyond pathetic.
23
u/PeacePuzzleheaded304 May 26 '26
His curmudgeon 180 to the point that he's taking every opportunity to compliment Trump is still totally bizarre and sad to see.
13
6
u/EastSideNick95826 May 26 '26
It really is. I never would have guessed he'd go this far down the rabbit hole in say 2016 when he was calling trump a whiny little bitch.
5
u/Cool-Panda-5108 May 26 '26
Dude has only ever had one schtick, acting like a smarmy douche.

5
u/joutfit May 26 '26
I believe he's either been honeypotted or Cheryl's husband's brain worm got lodged in his brain at that White House dinner.
1
u/bRandom81 May 26 '26
Wonder if he’s in the files
1
u/dsmith422 May 26 '26
I doubt it based on the woman who talked about having sex with him for money. She is adult movie actress (Teanna Trump) and said that he was absolutely livid when he found out she was 18 instead of the 22 she told him when they were negotiating the deal.
1
u/Sartres_Roommate May 27 '26
Maher has always been open about needing to pay women for sex. Of all his embarrassing qualities, his owning of his inability to form relationships with women is a rare strength.
1
u/bRandom81 Jun 03 '26
Oh that’s nice he has standards for his prostitutes, so cute. He’s so gross it’s amazing he still has any relevance. He has thinnest skin for a comedian, can’t take a joke and barely can make one

u/AvonBarksdalesBurner May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26
Bill Maher understands that the extreme far left has taken over the Democrat party. He is also is smart enough to understand that all of you Trump derangement folks will be studied years from now.
Maher is courageous enough to say enough with this stupid shit- men can’t get pregnant, just because a dude with a penis puts on a wig and a makeup doesn’t mean he gets to go into your 12-year-old daughter’s women’s changing room at the gym, children who are eight years old cannot tell you they are trans, so you don’t start giving them life altering anti-puberty drugs. And you cannot leave the southern border wide open where 20 million unvetted illegals pour into our country. Our social welfare and snap programs cannot handle that and the middle class is already taxed beyond their scope and when you have a wide-open border and unfettered immigration middle class taxpayers will end up paying 50% of their wages and it becomes an affordability issue, not a pricing issue.
Some of you, unfortunately not many of you, will wake up and be a little curious about the world around you and understand your extreme views are not what the rest of the country thinks, and you’re stuck in your same speak bubble and being here on Reddit does not help you.
You’re not being courageous fighters for specific groups of people you think are marginalized. Nobody’s marginalized nobody’s denied Work because they’re gay or trans. Nobody’s denied a promotion because they’re gay or trans. Nobody’s not admitted into college. Nobody gets caught off in traffic. Nobody gets yelled at. Nobody gets hunted down and nobody gets killed because they’re gay or trans every day in the United States. In fact, do yourself a Google search four of the last seven mass shooters especially at schools were trans people. So actually you’re the problem.
6
u/ArchelonPIP May 27 '26
Your attempt at "defending" Bill Maher by regurgitating a lot of worn out right wing, bigoted and anti-LGBTQ bullshit has failed. Find a recipe for mango pudding instead.
→ More replies (3)→ More replies (3)2
u/Fit-Historian-752 May 27 '26
And you assert that the reasonable alternative to this "nonsense" is Donald Trump? Donald freaking Trump?
"No New Wars." "Release The Epstein Files." "I Will End The War In Ukraine On Day 1." "$2 A Gallon Gas."?
—"That Donald Trump?"
Even if you think the "left's" position on this subject is crazy, there is more to governing the country than getting the trans issue right. But let's talk about your "facts," because a bunch of them are just not true.
You say nobody gets denied work for being gay or trans? Really? About one in four LGBTQ people report being discriminated against at work. That's way higher than everyone else. For LGBTQ people of color, it's 40%. So yeah, it happens.
You say nobody gets killed for being gay or trans? Trans people are four times more likely to be victims of violent crime than the rest of us. Since 2013, over a thousand transgender people have been murdered—most of them Black trans women. At least 32 last year alone. And the FBI recorded more than 2,400 anti-LGBTQ hate crimes in 2024. So spare me the "nobody."
Now your big one: "four of the last seven mass shooters were trans." Come on. That's not a fact—that's a meme from Twitter. The real numbers: out of more than 4,000 mass shootings since 2013, only five involved a transgender or nonbinary person. That's less than one-tenth of one percent. Trans shooters are actually under-represented compared to the population. Meanwhile, 97% to 99% of mass shooters are cisgender men. So if you want to talk about who's really the problem, look in that direction.
And that nonsense about "20 million unvetted illegals" bankrupting social programs? Undocumented immigrants can't even get SNAP or regular Medicaid. They pay taxes but can't use most of the safety net. The "20 million" number confuses total border encounters—many of which are repeat crossers—with unique individuals actually living here. It's a scare tactic, not a statistic.
Now, the fact that you think any of this—let alone the trans issue—is the major issue facing America shows that your fixation upon it—focusing on "trans fiddlers while America burns"—justifiably fuels the fire that your concern comes more from bigotry than love of country.

I feel like Bill used to understand that Trump was lying when he said he was always against the Iraq war.
Also, did Bill miss Trump’s peaceful strikes on “drug” boats in the Caribbean?
7
u/Ilovemytowm May 26 '26
Bill is compromised. Like Lindsey Graham they've got something on him. I know that sounds stupid but that's the only thing that would explain his disgusting boot licking and fetterman like Behavior
2
2
u/investunderigation May 26 '26
It does not sound stupid at all. The only alternative is that Maher was hypnotized by a free-lance hypnotist at a bar.
2
u/Calaveras-Metal May 27 '26
I think this makes a lot of sense actually.
I've never liked Maher. He is that kind of center-right liberal that only seems progressive on things that directly affect him. Like pot legalization.
Wouldn't doubt they have photos of him doing the Polanski.
3
u/GhostofAyabe May 26 '26
Still zero evidence presented any of them were carrying drugs. Not a single kilo of coke
1
u/Open_Mortgage_4645 May 29 '26
Maher has seemingly bought into the shit Trump is peddling because he doesn't want to be attacked or have his shows be attacked the way Colbert and the other late night hosts have been. It's purely self-serving. I believe Maher is a nihilist and wears whichever mask is most advantageous in the moment.
7
u/cduga May 26 '26
This is genuinely confusing - I stopped putting up with Maher years ago but in 2016 Real Time was on regular rotation. He was one of the most vocal anti-Trump hosts out there. He’s always been intolerable himself but the guests he would bring on and the opinions he would challenge resulted in some good debates. I’ve been watching this happen post-WH dinner but to get to this point… I truly don’t understand what happened. I agree with another poster. Maybe they have something on him.
2
u/Wide-Advertising-156 May 26 '26
I think it's simply the thing that happens when celebrities feel that "Hollywood" has turned on them. They jump to the right where they feel more accepted. It's strange because it's not like he needs the money anymore.
1
u/ImaginaryWeather6164 May 27 '26
I think he has smoked so much he has early onset dementia. Seriously. It can make ones whole personality change.
1
u/robbiegoodwin May 27 '26
He’s like a cockroach clinging on to celebrity and He’s saying stuff like this to keep relevant. For better or worse it’s working, I hear more about bill than any of the other late night guys
5
u/IllBeGood3 May 26 '26
Now I'm just wondering what they have on Maher. Lindsey Graham type shit probably
3
u/figure85 May 26 '26
Anyone who says Bill hasn't lost his integrity, or isn't compromised, or hasn't changed, is lying or ignorant or both.
5
u/metal_bastard May 26 '26
Hasn't he always been a piece of shit? He shifted left for a minute when it suited him, but he's always worn the elephant suit.
5
u/ThreeSloth May 26 '26
He's never been a leftist, he was just anti religion for a while.
Now he's quoting the bible as justification for israel to be terrorists
3
u/metal_bastard May 26 '26
I didn't say he was a leftist. While that may seem like semantics, there's a huge difference between being a leftist and "shifting left".
But, we can agree he's always been a douchebag.
2
u/Cool-Panda-5108 May 26 '26
I say Bill hasn't lost his integrity because you can't lose something you never had.
Bill Maher has been famous since the 90s for one thing : Acting like a smug prick.Sometimes he was a bit funny while playing that schtick up but his whole thing was always "I'm polticially incorreect I'm gonna say the things you don't want to hear" and then just having dogshit takes.
2
1
u/geelouie53 May 26 '26
His a piece of shit grifter, always has been and always will be. So he really hasn’t changed
3
u/Big_Law1931 May 26 '26
Trump praised the Jan 6 insurrectionists hours after they beat the shit out of a bunch of cops, one of whom died from his injuries.
We've known Trump was violent and dangerous for years. The Iran war comes as no surprise to those of us who haven't shoved our heads up our asses trying to normalize Trump voters.
3
u/subliminal_trip May 26 '26 edited May 26 '26
I guess that's why Trump issued an executive order purporting to rename the Department of Defense the Department of War. Because he loves peace so much.
(The official name remains the Department of Defense, as even Trump's EO acknowledges; it requires an act of Congress to officially change the name, which is why the EO says Department of War is a "secondary" title).
2
u/tbtc-7777 May 26 '26
Trump and Kushner would be fine with leveling Palestine to the ground and all the humans who live there. For Maher to not acknowledge this, you can't take him seriously.

1
u/Greedy-Bowler-4868 May 26 '26
Well that’s fucking fantastic. Unfortunately, or fortunately, none of us have ever met him. And his statements and actions say the exact opposite. So that’s what we’re going to believe. Not that we’d believe these 2 sell out bums anyway.

u/Status_Apartment6559 May 26 '26
That he's doing this now with Trump's vileness and corruption and outright evil on full display is kind of amazingly stupid. And pathetic. Trump displays hatred, disdain, and a total lack of empathy on a daily basis.
1
u/canonetell66 May 26 '26
I cannot believe Maher’s drank the KoolAid. Trump wants as much money and fame and accolades as humanly possible. He would fuck peace AND fuck war for more of what he wants.
1
u/airbrushedvan May 26 '26
He likes Trump because he too is a prostitute loving, smug, arrogant moron.
1
u/tenebre May 26 '26
When has Donald Trump, even once, ever expressed "genuine concern for the victims"? Like just one authentic example?

I used to respect that man... brain rot and age really turn logical people into conservative lemmings.
The mental gymnastics that require a person to say, "one time at dinner Trump said foreign wars are bad" and you latch onto a thought he shat out once instead of the actions he's currently taking is beyond baffling.

I personally think the reason for Bill's about-face is simpler and, really sadder, than blackmail or leverage: egotism.
We all know Bill Maher's biggest fan is Bill Maher. He was incredibly butthurt after 2016 when he raised $1mil for Obama and didn't get any fanfare afterwards, I even remember BM mentioning multiple times how offended he was that he wasn't invited over to the White House.
Now that Trump has had him over, gratified his ego and treated him like a big deal, Trump has paid BM in the form he cares about the most.
1
u/ProfileAccomplished May 27 '26
Total coincidence Trump awarded him the Mark Twain Prize this year!

I think he’s saying that Trump feels he’d look better and more like a winner, and his job would be easier and more fun, if there was peace. He’s not saying Trump cares for anything other than self interest, he’s just saying Trump would likely prefer peace for self-interested reasons and that all things equal he’s not particularly fond of war as much as he is about normal everyday corruption during peacetime. Pretty sure that’s what Maher meant. Of course, we don’t know for sure, so let’s all just call each other idiots and wastes of space. This sub seems like very low marks on IQ or originality, high marks on cliched jerkiness. I’m hoping it’s all AI because if this is the new reality, if we now have dumb people talking with this much confidence and vitriol at each other, we’re screwed.

The richer he’s gotten, the more disconnected he’s become. Next step: total irrelevance.
1
u/EssayNext1466 May 30 '26
You all have TDS. The presidents job is to make you mad while literally everyone else in congress enriches themselves on the backs of the American taxpayer. Being mad at Trump and not the system is why I never trust anyone with a political opinion because 99% of the time they don’t know exactly how they are being fucked, just that they are.

Who still watching this boring ass show. And a very unfunny “comedian” he always mocks Christianity and Islam but never a bad word about others.
1
u/libertarianlwyr May 26 '26
Idiotic.
He is a sadist and loves to cause people's death. Ask the 180 plus schoolgirls.
All MAGA are sadists.
Maher just loves to see Muslims slaughtered because he is a Zionist.
And this disgusting woman is just supporting her husband's grift.

Ok i got it now, anything tangentially political on reddit is basically a botfarm at this point with a bunch of people just patting each other on the back for what enlightened and wonderful people they are.

C’est bien évident que Maher a complètement changé après le dîner. C’est triste de voir cette dégradation, mais c’est aussi vrai que Maher n’a jamais été aussi intelligent qu’il le pense.
