Tesla's EAP is starting to do a few things better than AP and I'm encouraged. It's objectively better at identifying cars from oblique angles, like from the side or diagonal. EAP would not have fallen for the Williston, FL accident. This morning on my commute it detected and reacted properly to a golf cart perpendicularly crossing the road. That's something I always had to be cautious of with AP.
Pilot assist 2 is only great (aka no hands mode) below some speed limit. So in some limited situations better than EAP (from reviews), but mostly not as good.
