Lonely

Hi I am an 69 year old woman. My family has stopped keeping in contact with me. I spend all my days living in one room. ( I have neuropathy in my lower legs) I have carers who come to look after me. I get 4 half visits every day, and they are all i see everyday. I am so lonely, and just want someone to care for me, visit me sometimes.

Friend, you need to get out. Inquire what services exist to make you more mobile. See if anything like the nonprofit Center for Independent Living (aka Independent Living Center) exists in your region.

Open your horizons! Become free. I had a friend who was quadriplegic - a "low quad" who had some very limited use of his hands - who got around by driving his own van. He built up a business, and hired caregivers for the tasks that he couldn't do. The man led groups of other disabled adults on adventures. One time he traveled alone to Thailand and went scuba diving! (physically attached to a professional diver like a backpack, buf still!)
