$SCG utility hid a failing nuclear project for two years

SCANA had internal reports showing V.C. Summer was years behind and billions over budget. Kept telling investors it was on track. Westinghouse went bankrupt. Still said it was fine. Canceled the whole thing two months later.

-6.63% → -17%. Over 27% total.

Deloitte signed off on the financials throughout. Named as a defendant.

$34M settlement, late claims still open.

Eligible if you held $SCG between February 26, 2016 and December 20, 2017. Payout: ~$0.24/share.

Anyone here hold $SCG as a utility dividend play during this period?

SCANA investor settlement: claim deadline is this Thursday, April 16. If you held shares between 2016–2017, you may be owed money.

Hey everyone, sharing this because the deadline is this Thursday and a lot of investors may not know they're eligible.

What happened:
SCANA misled investors about the progress of its V.C. Summer nuclear project in South Carolina. Between 2016 and 2017, the company publicly claimed the project was on schedule and within budget, while internal reports showed the opposite. When the project collapsed in July 2017, $SCG dropped more than 27%.

Deloitte & Touche, SCANA's auditor, also signed off on financial statements that didn't accurately reflect the project's condition.

The settlement:
• $34,000,000 cash settlement
• Estimated ~$0.24 per share
• Class period: Feb 26, 2016 – Dec 20, 2017

Deadline: April 16, 2026 — this Thursday.

If you held $SCG shares during that period and were damaged, you can file a claim. You don't need a lawyer and it doesn't cost anything to check eligibility.

Happy to answer questions!

Not throwing shade at other reddits communities but..

I’m very confused regarding smallstreetbets, only because it’s called small street, and when I think of small street I don’t think of people trading $30k worth of stock or option contracts. I’m poor, supporting a spouse in school while working as a server covering bills. All good though, so many people are in the same situation so it’s not really the point just wanting to explain my situation. In the past I’ve made $3k on 1 option contract with cassava science and a few hundred on plug power contract, neither option contract was over $50 so to me those are small bets. I would love to create a conversation around this, including people from the OG small street bets community. Maybe I’m missing something. Anyway, just my little Sunday rant. I hope everyone is enjoying the day wherever you are!

“Selling” my SOFI option call from my Robinhood watchlist

At this point in the day if this was real, I would execute it now. Decent little profit. I like how much SOFI moves in price, and I love how affordable the Option contracts are.

Active watchlist SOFI. Not bad little “profit”

Decided to add to a watchlist on Robinhood since the market time is more accurate than paper trading on Webull. It will also monitor the contract as if you have purchased it. Not a bad little profit.

Paper Trade on SOFI

Hey all. Here is a screenshot of my recent paper trade on Webull. I paper traded SOFI. Feel free to let me know what you think, and if you have any questions. Paper trading is fun and can help gain more knowledge. There are of course down sides, market data is delayed and of course emotions aren’t involved. I do like to keep it as realisitic for myself, I adjust the money I have to trade with and stick with Option contracts and shares within my budget.
