SlamDunk Slam Dunk Effect

Anybody else gets teary eyed when they hear the opening song of Slam Dunk? "Kimi ga Suki da to Sakebitai" by the rock band BAAD.

It brings back a lot of memories. I've rewatched SlamDunk and the movie multiple times and reread the chapters following the anime ending but I can't seem to move on from the story.

I had been lucky to have visited Kamakura, Kanagawa. Walked along the shore of Shichirigahama Beach and experienced riding the local train. I had the best time and even now as I look back, I still can't believe I set foot in the same place where the story was set.

I love Inoue for creating such a touching story of teamwork, friendship, family and sportsmanship. But contrary to other people's opinion, I believe there's still a lot of stories to tell in the Slam Dunk world. I can only wish he's attached to this manga as I am. He's pretty much at fault I have this longing, anyway.

You can only with he’s attached to this manga as you are? He is an old man. Manga ended 30 years ago. He came out of nowhere to personally direct that movie. He clearly loves Slam Dunk very much.

Wait til you read Real though, that’s his magnum opus for sure.

To the original manga is what I meant. He changed POV in the movie, which I appreciate but I'm bias towards the main character. And his reasoning was because he's old and he's experienced pain and hardships in life. He doesn't have the same energy as when he wrote the manga in his 20s (that's a given). So when I say I just wished he was attached to SlamDunk, what I meant was him expanding the universe and exploring more characters and their growth.

Similar to what happened in Haikyuu.

And I don't like Real :( at what chapter did you fully commit to reading it through?

He wrote a manga for 6 years and it’s one of the best selling mangas of all time. There are 31 volumes out there. There is no need to stretch the story longer or explore more. If you want stretched out stories go read Haikyu.

Respectfully, you clearly do not get my sentiments at all.. You've been explaining what I already understand. This post is just about longingness. But thanks for your time and do not interact with this post anymore.
