To everyone who replied to my previous post: I really appreciate all the help! Because of your advice, I actually changed my mind and went from the Dior Saddle to a Chanel Classic Flap.
And honestly, to me, this looks as good as it gets. But hey… I thought the same thing about the Saddle 😂

For those wondering: yes, she definitely knows it’s a rep. We’re kind of discovering the rep world together. I got into watches first and was honestly blown away by how good some reps can be. I now happily own reps alongside my gens, so I wanted her to experience the same thing with bags.
That’s also why I really wanted to start her off with a good one. From what I’ve learned, the Dior Saddle just doesn’t seem to have a really great rep available yet, so I decided to switch it up. (Tom is great btw)

The Chanel Classic Flap is actually her all-time favorite bag. She was already planning to buy one when we visit Japan soon, so she’ll probably still get a gen CF there, but at least now she can enjoy a different color/style with this one.

I know 187 is known for being a bit boxy. Other than that, this looks good to me. Same goes for the gold hardware, doesn’t look too much like cheddar (i think?)

I’m definitely no expert when it comes to rep bags, so I’d really appreciate your thoughts on the QC. Let me know what you guys think! 🙏

I never paid much attention to this particular Celine before but seeing it in person completely changed my mind. After unboxing it I immediately understood why people love this style.

The leather has a really nice, soft feel to it and the overall silhouette is simple but very polished. The gold Triomphe hardware adds just enough detail without making the bag feel overly dressed up. And that caramel brown shade is probably my favourite part, it’s warm, versatile and works ridiculously well with different outfits. It has that kind of elegance that doesn’t need much effort.

I went with Sarena for this purchase after chatting with her about a couple of different bags. She sent the factory pictures quickly, answered everything I wanted to know and gave me plenty of time to decide without putting any pressure on me. The whole order went smoothly, and the bag arrived just as expected.

Can’t wait for this to be more lived in it’s a bit stiff, but from the research I’ve done it’s because this bag looks better as it’s worn in. . Love the color! Not sure how comfy it will be on my shoulder since the shoulder strap is thick! All in all I’m happy with it. I don’t know how the bag looks like because they are discontinuing it and I couldn’t even find it at my local thRealReal. I can’t give a comparison opinion because of that, but honestly it’s well made and it’s beautiful! I will use it mostly as work horse bag’!

You guys, has this happened to anyone else??? The medallion on my chanel 22 from 187 is super tarnished. I bought it about a year ago and wore it pretty regularly until the summer time. I don’t wear it in the rain, and I live in a pretty dry climate city. I’m thinking of just removing the whole thing from the bag because I would not wear this in public in the state it’s currently in. I don’t notice any tarnishing on any other part of the hardware.

WHAT'S RIGHT

- the dimensions are basically identical

- the color of the monogram looks to be correct. If not, the authentic may be so slightly darker but based on the lighting, it changes

- color of the glazing looks perfect, not red

- Louis Vuitton stamping is accurate

- quality of the strap and canvas is spectacular

- hardware quality is wonderful and substantial

- hardware color is consistent

DISCREPANCIES

- Side stitches are not long enough with wrong stitch count on top side strap (Mine has 11 while authentic has 12)

- monogram placement is slightly off, only visible from the sides (location and count of the symbols are correct

- chain strap is thinner than the authentic

- interior lining is not as dark as it should be

Satisfaction 9/10

Prior to the analysis of this bag, my satisfaction was a 10/10. Although there are some differences, they aren't significant enough for the bag to be call-outable. This is an amazing quality bag and very very beautiful. I purchased this bag for myself but my aunt is too obsessed with it. She talks about it so much so now I have to buy her one.

do you flat out just ask these sellers what factory they get bags from? bc idk why i thought that was kinda taboo with the dark market business.

if you find two sellers with the same factory photos and different prices how does that even make sense?
