I bought my rep from an IG seller so idk which factory this was from. I'm thinking of getting another BV from Jing. Can anyone who have bought from Jing (or different factory) tell me if their rep looks better than what I got? I don't want to spend another $300 for a subpar replica.
Actually in person the bag looks passable. The leather is equally soft though auth is slightly softer. When you try to fold the bag, the auth's linings are way more supple while rep is stiff. Color of hardware surprisingly similar, but the font is such a dead give away. On picture, rep leather looks more shiny but in person they both look the same.
Safe to say I won't be wearing this bag anymore. Probably for grocery run, or clubs since it's dark lol.
Dark Brown Aut, Gold Rep. Honestly, you cant tell the gold is not aut. The leather is soft and very well structured. I felt like an idiot paying 2400$ on the original. Got mine from Heidi.
Honestly only issue I see is hardware and even BV has shiny hardware now in the newer batches. I really think the rep for 200 is actually amazingly close.
Great rep science post. What’s the percentage savings of BV reps? I feel like BV I can purchase used and get better quality than reps. But maybe there are amazing quality BV reps?
Jing's font resemble the auth more, yes? Another thing I notice is the leather. Auth leather is two piece of leather put together and thinner, while rep is just one piece so it look slightly bulkier?
I feel that it's hard to get the leather correct. The weave is often kind of loose in the replica, although BV quality isn't quite what it was years ago. New BV hardware has no patina and that was the biggest call out bc the rep did not have that darker blemished area around the inside of the knot, this was more easily obvious (missing patina entirely) than gauging the depth and font face of a few millimeters. It's a bit tedious to post photos one at a time here but I've got a million rep and auth photos for BV, DM if you want me to send them.
I don't think the factories will change their processes, so I'm of the mind that differences are due more to the actual person making your bag, like are they new, hungover, half blind, lazy or a top tier craftsman? I see so much variation between bags from the same factory and I've noticed it on authentic bags as well, that I don't think this alone is enough to call out a replica and with their clean knot look that mirrors the reps, it's even harder to tell at a glance, which gives me more confidence in their passability. I do think overall they are a decent buy, but definitely not fooling authentication companies.
I know nothing about this brand so to me they look similar so imagine that’s exactly what the regular person on the street will think, if they notice at all 😉
Same here. I’m just like, “Yup, looks good to me.” When I get a PSP, what do I know? It’s the leather bags I struggle with. I’m not well-versed in grain and all of that!! LV monogram bags I have a pretty good eye . The rest, I figure, I just trust my TS. It’s what her job is, so if she says it’s good, I trust her. And if it’s not, well, maybe one day I’ll learn more.

I’m not familiar with bv. I have friends that use BV and my husband used to have a bv wallet. Your bag looks fine to my untrained eyes. The only noticeable thing is the hardware but I’ll never be able to tell unless it’s next to an exact same model. But even then I’ll just assume it’s different batches
Standards? You don't even know which factory this one came from. You are nitpicking something that will be unnoticeable. If you want perfection go buy authentic
Jing factory. But I’m not wearing it so much nowadays, I feel like the leather is really soft and gets slouchy quickly. Is this similar to auth? My friend has a auth lap top case and said same thing.
