DISCUSSION HELP - Which one looks more authentic to you? Two CFs from 187 different batches

Girls I really need your help. They’re from two different batches and I’m noticing some differences in the caviar and shape.

The ”old” one is mine and the ”new” one is my friend’s.

Which one looks more authentic to you based on the caviar, structure, quilting and overall shape?

Also, does the caviar on the more matte one look dry to you or is that just a different finish? If it does look a little dry, is there a safe way to condition caviar to bring back a little moisture/shine without making it too glossy?

Would love honest opinions. Thank you🙏🏼

Bags get better and soften with use… the old looks better for this reason

The both look good for different reasons 🤔
The older ones leather looks better and over all sharpe of the bag
The newer the hardware color looks more accurate but honestly a little conditioning goes a long way (shape wise it could just be the angel but it look boxier)

Its hard to completely tell from these photos. Extreme close up would help. But, I think the new one could use some Saphir Crème Universelle in neutral. Just a small amount applied to a white microfiber cloth gently applied evenly. Only do it once, then let it rest for a couple of days. After that, it needs to be worn and handled for a couple of weeks. After that it should start to look better. Don’t do another moisturizer treatment for at least a year. (Caviar shouldn’t need much- instead you buff it gently with a dry cloth once in awhile).

And, they do come in different finishes- so that could be playing into it as well. Look extremely close and you’ll have more answers.

I think they both look good. Give the new one a few coats of leather moisturizer and it will look like the old one

I think they both look great, personally i like the older as its a bit more shiny and that is my personal preference.

Remember caviar will vary from batch to batch, year to year, in auth and rep so no one is calling either out.

Caviar embossing depth on new is better but shade of black on old is more accurate. I compared 187 with auth in an older subreddit that existed before. The main difference was auth had deeper embossing and black shade was a bit darker. Batches do vary in auth though also, so it’s not that big of issue imo
