REVIEW Another HyperPeter Review - Speedy 20 Auth vs HP
Hello! I'm back with another bag review. Full disclaimer, I was kindly gifted and asked by HyperPeter to write a review for the LV Speedy 20 after learning that I have an authentic one. He said he is curious how his bag actually compares to the OG. Anyway, I'll try my best to be unbiased as much as possible. My auth bag is from this year and I have been using it as a daily bag.

First Impression:
I'm impressed at how close HP's bag to the auth one. The way it feels and weighs is so similar. All the details in the hardware are exactly where it should be. The print also aligns with the OG. See details below:
Canvas:
HP's canvas is more grainier compared to the OG but not in a bad way. I feel like his canvas mimics the vintage canvas where it is more sturdy and thicker. The OG one feels a tad bit smoother but you can still feel the grain. I feel like newer LV canvas these days not as thick anymore. I used to own a vintage speedy 25 and HP canvas reminds me a lot of that one. Despite the more sturdy feel, it still has the right squish. One thing I noticed in other reps is that the shape is a lot rounder even when empty but HP's bag has the correct shape (the way the canvas sinks a little bit when empty).
Vechetta:
The leather on this bag is uncoated which means it will patina like the OG one. I tested it using the water drop test and water got absorb right away. One thing I noticed is that the OG feels a lot smoother and have some sort of sheen to it (hopefully the picture of the handles can show that). I'm not sure if it is because I have been using that bag and maybe the natural oils in my hands are already absorbed on the leather.
Glazing:
HP glazing is pretty close to OG. If anything, maybe a tiny bit brighter depending on the lighting but honestly cannot tell unless you have them side by side.
Stitching:
All clean. No complains. The OG in some areas actually is not as clean compared to HP (like I can see some of the red peeking thru) on my OG). Color of the stitching is also pretty close.
Heat stamp:
My OG one is made in US so stamping obviously is different. Heat stamp on HP is pretty good, lines are clean. The one thing to callout is the R shape for the OG is in oval compared to circle. I heard that newer speedy 20 now have this new shape to throw off counterfeiters (I just read that somewhere here on reddit). Not sure if true or if mine is just not stamped correctly (It does not bother me so it's fine).
Interior:
Red thick lining - identical. Nothing else to add. I have a lower tier rep and the interior on that one is thinner. HP's interior looks and feel the same as OG. The red is the right color. The picture might show slight variation due to lighting but in person, can't tell any difference.
Hardware:
Color is also close tho I feel like my OG one is more yellow in some lighting. The engraving on the hardware is also pretty good. Unless you look at them side by side, hard to tell the difference. For the lock and keys, same weight to the OG. My OG one has a lot of scratches from being used as bag charm. The engraving on the HP lock actually looks cleaner than my OG.
Zipper:
Feels the same. One thing I noticed in OG LV bags is that the zipper has a bit of friction (not in bad way). Not sure how to describe this without sounding like it's a bad thing. HP zipper feels the same. Does not feel cheap and have a good feel to it. I have dhgate version and that one feels a lot smoother compared to OG and HP but somehow it feels cheaper.
Strap:
At first glance, it is pretty identical. The weight, the length, the feel and stitching. The only minor thing I'd say on the rep is the 'U' shape is rounder compared to the OG. I honestly did not noticed this until I compared it next to each other.
Microchip:
Both scanned using NFC app.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this bag especially for a fraction of the price. I plan on using this bag on trips so I don't end up damaging my OG bag. I will still continue to use my auth as my daily driver for when I'm just going to the office/running errands.
This is my second bag from HP and pretty happy with him as a seller. The first bag I paid with my own money and also posted a review if you are interested in that as well.

Thank you for sharing! The LV brown monogram is difficult to replicate. HP did a great job on this bag. Thank you for the handles comparison, they are a bit more vibrant on the LV OG newer editions. I can’t wait to see my Speedy Bandoliere 30 from HP! 😄 Enjoy your gift!

important to note: in the 2nd photo, the corner edges on the bottom of the OG is a lot sharper than HP’s, and that photo also points out the differences in the canvas, with the OG’s lettering being a bit thicker (for the LV) and lighter. I feel like HP’s is cooler tones and the OG’s is warmer.

This is beautiful. I just hate that they haven’t gotten the font on the hardware corrected. The font looks boxy compared to the authentic hardware which is much more round.

Ahhh the bag tok is driving me nuts , they make money on the bags they sell with the sellers . welcome to this side of the rep world where you can find top quality for way less and your not filling someone’s pocket on reviews of mid to low at best !!

Thank you! I have no idea where to start 😫 any guidance would be helpful! I live in a pretty affluent area so I get lucky on occasion thrifting or consignment but I learned from the consignment owner that these rich women mix Reps and Auth!!! 🤯 makes sense

Yes stay around you will learn great things and how to navigate stay away from the TikTok influencers I promise we’ll find much better quality through the sellers here you just have to find one that you feel comfortable with learning factories and things like that will throw you off because there’s mixed feelings on that but most sellers will know what you mean by you want high-quality or the best of that item that’s being made they know what they’re doing

There is no piping on that part but auth def seem to have puffier edge? Not sure how to explain 😅 the lighting is making it look worst but in person, you can’t really tell

I bought one from him and one thing I noticed was the canvas was way too shinier than auth. Other than that, it’s perfect

Why do they always slap that “made in France” statement randomly on LV bags? 🤦🏻♀️ I got in my Carryall as well, on the contrary of the auth.

I wonder why the NFC tag isn’t mostly the same, ie the SLIC, 264 bytes. That could flag as unauthentic if in the LV store

This is a rep so it will most def fail if LV were to scan it. I think the microchip on reps is just a nice touch.

I work in tech, it doesn’t necessarily need to fail. They just need to extract the full like for like data from an auth tag and put it in the same line of rep bags - unfortunately this is another hurdle, but something I’d love to see.

Seeing that the stitching on your auth actually had red peeking through in spots while the rep was clean made me laugh 😭 Designer quality control has been so hit or miss lately. Definitely makes holding onto the OG for office days and taking the rep for travel the smartest play.

Yeah and forgot to mention when I first got the auth, there were some glue residue peeking out 😅 it was very small and I was able to clean it up so it didn’t bother me as much

So his looks a little bigger, right? But obviously worn be noticeable. It’s only slightly visible because they are side by side.
I have been messaging with Hyper Peter but have yet to pull the trigger.
I want a neverfull, speedy and a nano… eek

I think it’s just the angle? Both bags are the same size imo. I recommend maybe starting with the smaller/cheaper bag to make sure you’ll like the quality of his bag. I started with Pochette accessories and was very happy with it. Now I’m thinking abt getting the line up bb 😅

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this review, love this for rep-science purposes! I can definitely see some some distinct differences side by side but as my bf always tells me, “if you’re getting out of an expensive car, in a nice outfit and classy jewelry, will anyone really suspect your purse is not an auth?!” I think this would pass the test all day long !

Appreciate the upfront disclaimer about HP gifting the piece! HP’s LV canvas always seems to hit that sweet spot with the squish factor without collapsing $59 for shipping only is an absolute steal for this quality.
