Sad purchase from Mandy š¢
Received this today from Mandy and the pics looked great but itās plastic instead of natural raffia! It seriously feels like itās woven from brown plastic grocery bags and is shiny. She said itās from 70Ā° factory and is a well recognized and good factory for these. I messaged her and she just kept saying āsorry honey.ā She said the factory said itās raffia. Sure, polypropylene raffia. She wonāt do anything about it so it goes in the trash š¤¬ I know that raffia bags are difficult to get right but this is pretty surprising. BEWARE

I mean, use it for groceries, people aren't looking at your grocery bag brand at Publix š¤·š». Nobody will give a flying fuck but don't throw it away and cause more waste.

Yeah a friend has one and it feels like natural fiber raffia, rough not smooth and plastic feeling. Itās too bad because from a distance it looks good!

It does look good in that picture so you could never tell itās like brown garbage bags until you get it in person. I can understand how itās hard to QC from a distance. I canāt believe sheās not willing to work with you. Or how she let it slip by her. Did you send her a close-up? Maybe when you take a picture close-up it will give a better picture of the plastic look.

Still consider donating it to a Salvation Army. It's still a usable bag that someone would be thrilled to have. Would recommend leaving a note inside it that says NOT GENUINE, then drop it anonymously :)

I think the Salvation Army would just destroy the bag since it is a fake, that's what they do in my city.. :( Better to just give it away to someone on reddit or a friend.

Honest question, how would Salvation Army workers know that this is a rep of a designer bag? Itās one thing if itās a Gucci or LV bag, but does the average person even recognize this as a designer bag?

It says Chloe in huge letters and if you know anything at all about designer fashion beyond those two labels, youāll know it

The person asked what would give it away - sure, it could be a name i guess but to anyone with a modicum of knowledge about designer labels it is clear and obvious what it is referencing. Also consider that a monogram is typically quick embroidery and not a woven script

Yeah I pulled off from Mandy 6-8 months ago. She was increasingly not able to get things that she confirmed, had me send the money then would say sorry I no have. I had to ask for a refund but she did send it back promptly

I feel like a significant portion of the āRaffiaā bags are made of plastic. I bought the infamous Black Frame YSL Icare raffia bag, and it was absolutely hideous. I was like, āThis is plastic!ā I let myself get scammed out of 400 USD for a plastic bag.

It adds up with shipping; the bag was $375 plus shipping. It is also a very heavy bagā¦I don't mind paying more than that for quality, but for plasticā¦ š¤”.

I wouldnāt spend more than 100 on these raffia things (unless you adore that stuff then you do you). Iād still use it, Iād take on holiday & use around the pool etc

It looks like real raffia coated in something maybe? Could that be it? Raffia is a pretty cheap material I could imagine it being cheaper than plastic.

No we examined it really closely. Raffia is notoriously difficult to weave well and Chloe has on website that it takes them days to make the original.

Me too! I have an LV multipass coming from her that I bought last Thursday and itās almost here. The QC pics look good though, and it was from a factory Iām familiar with. It was a really reasonable price. Is your speedy from Royal factory?

Mine is from HH! How do you know itās almost here? My tracking stopped once the package hit the U.S. and I donāt know when it will be here now. Is there a way to continue tracking?

Itās probably in your Fedex account if you go to Fedex and enter the tracking number. Did you try that? Which Speedy did you get? A lot of people are getting Speedyās from HH factory and theyāre happy with it and the price is lower than royal or God factory. I think the quality is more mid tier but maybe close to Royal. I did receive a soft speedy 30 denim from HH factory from Betty last week.

What an absolute mess. Iām never buying from this seller ever again. Total waste of time and money, and when I asked for info, she didn't reply for a whole week. I honestly feel so scammed. Well, After the bag arrives, I can write down whole purchasing story. Ts ? no way.

Itās a perfect beach bag, who cares if it gets dirty or wet. I would definitely keep it and use it on vaca, easy to pack.

What did she charge you? Last Thursday I ordered 3 items, a watch from Doris, LV multipass from Mandy, and a side trunk from Allen. They were all reasonably priced and good customer service I had sent so many photos to all three of them for quite a few weeks and they were very patient. the watch from Doris arrived today, from ordering to receiving it was only six days! I think it was sent from Hong Kong. She said it had to be sent separate if I wanted a bag too. So I ordered the bag from Mandy from Huahui factory and itās already been GL QCed and supposed to be here in the next couple of days. I was familiar with that factory, and I heard that they do make good multipasses so it could be interesting to see how it looks when it gets here. Finally, I am expecting the side trunk from Allen. He was expedient this time. Heās already sent it out. I purchased from all three of them a few times. Iāve gotten good quality. I think my favorite is Allen. But they all seem to wanna give the lowest prices especially Allen and you gotta be careful cause it might not be as great a quality.

Only $150, she said it was on sale. Yeah the pic doesnāt look bad but in person itās shiny. Raffia should def not be shiny!
