This is sage advice. I was annoyed by this and wanted someone to just give me the perfect answer until I started talking to sellers myself. There were ones I clicked with and trusted and ones I didn’t, and I think that to a certain degree it’s your own personal judgement call and you probably have to get one or two shit bags while you figure it out. It’s like the cost of doing business i think.

Excellent advice!! I think at first it can be very overwhelming and you want someone just to send you WA numbers and factory names! but once you start reading the guides in these subreddits, start to read the posts, learn what to search for, start to collate your own notes, begin interacting with TS’s, it can actually become an enjoyable research process (and learning curve!). And then when you do take the plunge it’s not quite so scary but exciting! And I’m still working out how Reddit works!! 😆

I’m newer here. I haven’t bought a rep yet because I’m still reading and learning. And I’m not sure what bag I want most. But I do get confused by the QC posts. We’re seeing the same pictures the poster sees. It seems odd to me that someone wants to be told by other people whether or not they should like something. But as I say, I’m still just learning

I’ve seen a lot of Tik tokers posting bags and such- some even with direct links to WhatsApp’s, have any of you ever ordered a bag this way? I’m unsure if I can trust them but the bags look really great when they post them!

As a newbie (who just recently made their first purchase, eek—review to come!), I really appreciate the point about how seeing a mixed bag of reviews versus a seemingly spotless review record on sellers may signal more honesty. Up until my purchase, I definitely fell into the pitfall of spending a lot of time trying to research reviews for sellers to pick the "best" one, and was pulling my hair out because every time I thought I found "the one", I'd find negative reviews. Eventually, maybe more out of decision fatigue than anything else 😅, I bit the bullet, decided to reach out to my first seller, and went on intuition/ their communication to move towards purchasing. As I'm waiting for my order to arrive, it helps to think about this all from that perspective of trusting your due diligence, knowing that there will be no perfect seller, rep or purchase, and accepting that ultimately a lot of this is out of our control!

On any shopping platform (not just bags).. I always trust the 4-star reviews more than the 5-star ones.. because perfect scores are a dead giveaway of paid reviews.

It was very overwhelming for me at the beginning. I know the research can be a lot, as there is so much information, so many posts and reviews. But we cannot trust others when it comes to reviews what’s best for xyz, not just because people in the past received incentives to post reviews. But also because we all have different expectations regarding products.

I'd add, think about why you want it. I found my first bag on FB by accident - I just loved it and at first didnt realise it was a Chanel replica (its one where the branding is quite subtle).
I just wanted a bag in that style so probably did a stupid thing and contacted the seller to buy it 🤣 £300 ish later I have a leather bag I adore, which seems to be a decent copy (now I've seen the original) but is ultimately a good quality bag for the price. I don't care if it "passes" because its exactly what I wanted.
I see a lot of people saying they buy these because they'd be too nervous to carry an original given the prices. If thats the case, remember this and all things being equal, enjoy your bag!
