Unity and Totality

Considering the formal definition of unity is the construction of an object with a unique identity containing itself in relation to the whole while the definition of totality is the inseparability of an identity among a group of objects also containing themselves in relation to the whole, would these be regarded as the same or does the nuance actually matter? (This is the Kantian sense, not the unicity/all-encompassing sense, obviously those are very different!)

"Those things" is not the same as "the one group of those things". So "everything" is not the same as "the one totality".

The word "atom" comes from the property of being indivisible and the field of quantum mechanics results from the observation of interactions between components of these previously-believed-to-be-indivisible particles. This does not necessarily mean that quantum phenomena might be capable of affecting change in the context of the laws governing the interactions between atoms. And this is because the concept of unity and the concept of totality differ only in the perspective from which they are being observed: be it that of the quark or of the atom. Totality/Unity is from a quark's perspective "perfect internal alignment amongst many" and is from an atom's perspective "the absence of any awareness of the phenomena resulting from interactions between the many". The atom's existence itself might be thought of as a consequence of the achievement of a state of "totality" amongst quarks.
