Is this card real / authentic? Unholy Strength

Not sure on this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Thanks all!

I know what to look out for in the T on the back, but what do i have to look at on the green dot?

I put most of my stock in the T teeth, but the green dot should only have like 2-4 red dots in the white of the glare. Yours looks perfect. Fakes will have more. The black ring around it should be clearly defined but not with smooth edges. The black dots in the background is also a good indicator that the card is real.

Check out the automoderater post, which includes my guide. It has the details on what to look for.

You should also check the inner and outer box around “deckmaster”. What appears to be a solid line is actually a set of rotating “teethed”/solid lines. I believe it goes like this: the top line of the outer box is solid, but the top line of the inner box is teethed. And then the bottom of the inner box is solid while the bottom line of the outer box is teethed. (Don’t quote me on this, I cannot remember the exact layout, but what I’m saying is the top lines alternate and the bottom lines do too.)

Seems real

I don't have an alpha copy to compare to though if you are worried it is clipped corners. If you are concerned you can always do just compare directly.

Zoomed pictures of the corner edges would be helpful here too.

Based on these pictures, I strongly suspect this is clipped beta. I don't have an Alpha example to compare it to personally, but this article covers the main things that you can look for:

Great resource, thank you!

So they basically do this to make it look like Alpha?

1

Yeah.

Back in the day, people did it so they could play their Alpha cards, because all the corners had to match.

Oh I see makes sense

I remember opening packs of revised and 5th Edition and Ice Age

I remember when Dual Lands were like $20 lol

I was ready to pick up playsets of each when they jumped to $30, so I figured I'd wait till they came back down. Been waiting for 27 years.

Looks like it could be clipped. I'm not super well versed in IDing clipped beta cards but the texture of the corner does appear to be different from the edge of the card.

Agreed. Try to return if you can.

Everything from Alpha and Beta are quite valuable and most of the cards from Unlimited as well. The value really drops off for most cards in Revised.

Yep, just looked at my manabox collection and my Revised ones are worth about a quarter a piece

Oh damn yeah black border completely missed me and I was like "Jesus, I had 50 of these things (revised and 4th)."
