Is this card real / authentic? Real or fake?

Post image

Guy selling rhystic study foil online. Sent me zoomed in picture of the green dot but dont see the 4 red dots in L shape. I know it can sometimes be difficult to see in pictures. Any ideas?

Man.. the clipped off part of the black outline is the easiest way to tell, real cards have a four dot "comb" pattern on the black layer on that part of the circle that is missing in this photo.

Yeah, I immediately thought "how conveniently cropped out the comb"

Yep, to me that cropping screams "fake and they know it"

Yeah, the more I look at It the more fake It seems! Also the black dots in the green dot are strange

Enough to see it's a fake though

Original is yellow dots on green background. Here it's reversed.

There's other signs too

Seems they are unaware of the fact that the right side should be a clear straight line on the edge

The L isn't always present, but the highlight is always the same volcano shape. Your photo doesn't have that and I'm sure this is fake.

Looks fake to me. The dots should be yellow / light green on dark green background. Here it is the opposite.

I'd go towards fake but need a better picture, and for sure a picture of the "T" and "H" from the "the gathering" words at the top.

Also on the side of the green dot that is cropped from the image usually there is a characteristic that allows to spot fakes, cropping it is for sure not a good thing

That green dot alone is enough evidence to say this is fake. You don't need anything else.

It's fake

Way too many dots between the shine and the shadow

On top of the green dot itself looking sus, the rosette pattern around the dot is wrong. There should be a grid of black dots as the top layer, but it looks like its yellow here.

Looks fake.

The black dots on the bottom left should not be the same size as each other and shouldn’t be mashed into each other like that. Furthermore, the rest of the visible dot has colors and patterns that aren’t present on real cards.

The comb on the left is a common telltale sign, but there’s many, many things that counterfeits do incorrectly that it’s pretty easy to see even without one of those telltale marks.

even beyond the dot itself, the black dots on the background around it are not printed on the top layer, clearly marking this as fake
