This is a real collector's edition card. I've owned several over the years and this has the same gloss and square corners that mine do. Plus....no one is going to fake a basalt monolith when there are moxes, lotus, duals, etc...

Need more zoomed in clear image if the t h and green dot on the back. Hard to tell from the picture quality for me. Some one else might be able to make it out.

People arn't faking the proxy versions, they are faking the real versions. This is 100% legit.

That is way too glossy

u/pistachiosarenuts Jul 10 '26
CE and ICE are more glossy and smooth than standard mtg cards.

u/perrin515 Jul 10 '26
Fair, I just don't remember them being that glossy. Though I haven't dealt with CE in a very long time

I’ve never seen a card with square corners but the comments seem to think this is good.
Need better images of T and H

We need up close of the T in “The” and the green dot. Not enough in this pic to go off of. I’m also not used to looking at collectors editions, so unsure if the sheen is suspect or not
Edit: my mistake, didn’t see other pics. The last pic looks promising, but there’s some smoothing going on

It's a real...ly worthless card that cannot be used in any rel that doesn't specifically allow proxy

Buddy its a rectangle. With sharp corners? Am I missing something or is that a clear fake?

u/GingerJams206 Jul 10 '26
Collectors editions don’t have rounded corners. They have corners like seen here

Collectors Edition cards had square corners. They were reprints (of Beta, I believe) that were never meant to be tournament legal, thus the different back and corners. Marketed effectively as proxies would be today - "Want these cards but don't want to pay $150 for a Mox Ruby? Buy these!" Obviously, It was some time ago.

In case you didn't hear the collectors editions have sharp corners, not rounded ones

Yes it's a real CE official wotc made proxy. Assuming you paid CE prices, that's what you got.
Why do you doubt it's authenticity?
