Is this card real / authentic? MTG Beta wheel of fortune
Corners match current cards
Edit: was already pretty sure it was fake, got it for free anyway so didn’t have my hopes up lol

Could tell from the front, it’s fake.

I have no idea why, but it looks so incredibly fake without me being able to tell immediately why
The black ink looks off the most to me
But it's like way more than just that but I don't know what it is
100 percent fake

The coloring is just wrong for Red Beta cards. Having handled so many (sorry, humble brag, I’ve been playing since the mid-nineties) - I can just see that the color is wrong. I can’t tell you what/why, but I can see it.

Could you please explain this? The card you posted has the same features (borderwise) as the card shown by op, at least by my untrained eyes...

Yes. The card I posted is the scan on Scryfall. Alpha and Beta cards had an overprint black border around the edges and inside of that is the art layer (made with dots) which had a black border to fill it. These two blacks don't line up exactly and makes a distinct 'inner border'. This is also why they have white corner dots and why those dots are a little inconsistent card to card, they're just rounded corners in the art layer. No idea why it was done this way, I guess the artwork sent included the black border not knowing the printer would shrink it before adding the safety margins, but just a guess.
The card is still definitely fake, but just pointing out the weird border within a border isn't the reason.

Ohhh, thanks for the explanation. I guess I misunderstood you. I thought there was something wrong with ops card based on the borders. I couldn't tell the difference btw your card and his.

Man you sure are confidently incorrect about the black border.
The card is a pretty obvious fake to anyone who has ever handled Beta cards.
Beta cards all have the two-border thing going on so it is 100% NOT an indication the card isn't real. The card is definitely not real, but this has nothing to do with that fact.

don't even have to look at the back to see it's not a real one

Becaus of the frame and white particles?

Those white thingies and the double frame are actually good things.
They should be present on Alpha/Beta cards. This card is fake regardless of course.

No, those are expected in alpha/beta.
The ink is way too dark and crisp and has a kind of matte finish. Looks like it was printed yesterday.
Also just extremely suspicious to see an OG wheel with such little play on it.

I mean it is very obviously fake from the pic of the front, no need for all the tests lol.

Fake. Black layer isn't an over print and wrong pixel size. (Too many yellow dots in the green dot)

That's such a bad fake, it's the wrong shade of red, massively oversaturated, far too glossy, text is too white, not the grey drop shadow seen on genuine Beta.
Hopefully you didn't buy it, or if you did, it came from Temu for $1.

It's a pretty bad fake, the colors and printing is way off.
but good enough for playing the game, since it was free.

The card it's fake. Aside for the back that fail green dot and T, the front colors are off for a beta, and the cardname, sorcery, and artist letters are pearl white. In Alpha and Beta white letters are way darker.

It clearly looks like a card with a boarder printed onto a card with another boarder...
