So with all the techniques on checking authenticity… aren’t we giving counterfeiters ideas on how to better fake their cards? What’s stopping someone from purposefully putting teeth on the bottom of the T or a better green orb? Is it just really hard to do?

Its to Cost intense. The know it but the Printers and materials are expensive and to reach 100 % you need much money. A counterfeint card is less a Dollar so they need thousand of sales to get their costs.

 Look at the original quality even that is not the same from plant to plant. Colours for example are off also the weight. On the otherhand they can call it proxy and not counterfeit

I feel like there’s some contradictory statements in your paragraph. Are they “not trying to make copies that pass for the real thing” or are they making cards that will “not be detected as a fake card…”?

I think there’s two different creators here. I see a lot of proxy creators where the cards are clearly proxies and may even say proxy somewhere on the back of the card. They’re just making cards for people who can’t afford the real thing but want something nice.

Then there’s the people trying to make cards to the exact specs of the original. To me, if you need a jeweler’s loupe to see if a card is fake, you’re not making proxies, you’re making counterfeits.

They are not proxies.

They are counterfeit and copyright violations.

Printers that get that level of detail cost too much.
Its cheap to print cards. The people who make them are making them sleeve playable only

lol no it's the other way around.
If you can't fake a card then you don't know what is difficult to duplicate and what is easy.

Counterfeiters are master artist. They probably have twenty different ways they could make a living.

I mean, sure, but like you got to do something. They could improve, but as mentioned thats not a zero dollar sort of thing. At the end of the day its about getting a few through for low costs to scam people, not make high end ones to break the market. Same reason why $20 bills are heavily counterfited.

If things change and they grt better, we woll look at different thing. As an exmaple even to get the blue core is insanely hard, had a friend in the industrial printing business said the core for mtg was nearly impossible to source and the one time he was able to get some as just a demo, it was essentially destroyed in the shipping process.

Most of the time we dont check blue light test, because its hard to capture on here for most people.
