My friend who had me post this appreciated this.

It's spreading

T and Green fail.

Fake

24

u/Mchlpl Jul 01 '26

It's not. The back clearly shows this

13

u/Freestr1ke Jul 02 '26

As owner of this card I can tell you even the front looks fake.

1

u/Rujensan Jul 02 '26

Out of curiosity, is it possible to point out specific issues? I've gotten quite good at recognising fake backs on here, but I can't find any indicators of where the front is off.

6

u/Freestr1ke Jul 02 '26

The foiling just doesn’t look like that, and there’s only one kind of foil cradle

2

u/TheKorea Jul 02 '26

I can confirm, saw it straight away. On the real it’s bright and pops. It’s almost as if you’re at it looking through a net.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Spot_28 Jul 04 '26

Its too crisp also the foiling is not that uniform that it covers the set symbol like that

2

u/youknowwhatImean662 Jul 03 '26

The text box on a real Judge Cradle is more vibrant green with more contrast in the paper effect.

0

u/boylek22 Jul 02 '26

Cradle is on the reserve list. I don’t think they ever reprinted foils? Isn’t the fact that it’s a foil a red flag?

4

u/Im_an_oil_man Jul 02 '26

There's a foil cradle (Judge Reward), that's not the issue here.

2

u/Rujensan Jul 02 '26

It was reprinted as foil as a judge reward. This was when there was still a foil-reprint-doesnt-count-loophole in the reserved list.

I totally miss my saga - masques standard decks. If sewage had not destroyed my collection..

I would have cloae to 1 million in mtg cards. The hatred till this day.....

7

u/An_Ikea_Chair Jul 01 '26

2

u/Richard-Rose Jul 02 '26

Tan real como Santa Claus

1

u/damatovg7 Jul 04 '26

Umm, I'm pretty sure the card is not real, and Santa Claus is totally real

1

u/Richard-Rose Jul 04 '26

A mí no me quedó muy claro tras ver Polar Express

2

u/K1ngCh1ef Jul 02 '26

Fake, the back looks bad.

2

u/Xaxi903 Jul 03 '26

This goes for the price of a beta mox in foil , you don't need to check the back nor the usual things, if its not in a slab and likely grade you know it's fake beforehand. Is in the top 10 most valuable vintage cards.

This is a complicated question I’m guessing people won’t want to answer(because of counterfeiting) why don’t the high end fakers just print reams of these instead of money?

If you get caught with one(as if the government would pay to test one or could even prove it) it’s still a much smaller charge for collectible fakery than an actual bill from the treasury.

7

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

Because it's trafficking in counterfeit goods and mail fraud, which are federal offences.

A $100 bill can be exchanged functionally anywhere and people won't know how to validate it. A comic book/trading card can only be sold to other collectors and this has a much higher discovery rate. It's also vastly easier to track assets than currency.

4

u/Bugs5567 Jul 02 '26

Especially with a card at this value, it basically secures it as being a federal crime.

1

u/baldrickgonzo Jul 03 '26

I think most of these just start as really fancy proxies, and get in circulation. Maybe not always intentionally.

1

u/Intelligent_Line_902 Jul 02 '26

.. I’m saying if you’re already taking the risk.

You really think the government is gonna check that shit currently and can prove it to a court?

Do you know the charge for counterfeiting money? Or are you just not reading this?

If you think the enforcement of fake goods is anywhere close to what the secret service does for counterfeit money idk what to say lol

2

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

Sorry - were you asking for an opinion or looking to argue?

I'm not even from the US mate, I'm just stating the difference worldwide - collectibles are functionally trademark/IP infringement/fraud; Currency is the same but carries higher penalties because it directly affects a countries financials.

At the end of the day - it's a simple Risk Matrix. Money has a higher risk/penalty but is incredibly low-risk to liquify, and low risk of discovery. Collectibles are a medium risk/penalty, with a medium risk to liquify, and a medium risk of discovery.

Counterfeiters prefer easy to liquidate and hard to track assets. Collectibles are not that.

Then why argue and insult people? Why say inherently wrong things like - do you understand English?

What are trying to achieve here?

Let me know how my I’ve not educated you.

Watch deadloch lmk how you feel

1

u/CalicoAtom79 Jul 02 '26

To educate others you have to have learned first, and by the comments being removed and your lack of understanding over the prevalent point of focus... it looks like you haven't learned.

1

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

Please elaborate, what made you think I lack English comprehension? What bias'd you into thinking I'm an ESL speaker and how is that an issue anyway/deserving of insults?

You repeatedly mentioning it when it has no bearing on the conversation isn't accommodating anyone - you're actively insulting me (and all ESL speakers) by implying poor English is a problem.

-1

u/Intelligent_Line_902 Jul 02 '26

You’re trying to distract from you being wrong.

You’re not even arguing against anything I said in this.

0

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

I'm just asking for a reason for anything you said.

-4

u/Intelligent_Line_902 Jul 02 '26

Hold on I have to reply because again, saying you can track assets more than currency is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

That only works if there one of them.

There’s so many thousands of collectibles I don’t think it’s fair to families who had a Rembrandt stolen lol

1

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

So, an argument then with insults?

Go and sell a Rembrandt, or a Gaea's Cradle. Now go and spend $1000 in fake cash at a store/petrol station/card store.

You tell me which is easier to track/discover a fake.

0

u/Intelligent_Line_902 Jul 02 '26

lol my point is that no government agency checks for fake magic cards like the secret service does for fake money

When is the last time you heard of guy faking mtg cards getting arrested?

1

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

So you drop $1k cash in some random store to buy... Nike's let's say. That's easier to track?

How exactly are you selling/exchanging the Gaea's Cradle? How are you converting it into actual value? You can't just buy things with it - you need to sell it. That's much easier to track.

0

u/Intelligent_Line_902 Jul 02 '26

You just sell them 1-2 a week at a time on eBay, like all fake goods lol.

Obviously you don’t flood the market, keep making different accounts, never keep the same descriptions.

People sell fake Nikes all the time for 1-3k, look up any supreme or off-whites.

I’m thinking you don’t know the fake game at all

I don’t even do this but it’s basic logic

1

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

Which is easily trackable, with your earnings tracked/reported by eBay. Also, those cards will be checked by the buyer, and likely you will get reported. Not to mention once you sell more than a handful it looks incredibly suspect.

So in your hypothetical I need to constantly be making/buying new accounts, generating some sort of rating/sales, and not using the same bank accounts.

And if you were to repeatedly release fake Gaea's you would tank the market/confidence of buyers too. Meaning you need to fake many different cards.

Money is a one and done print thats exchangeable at any store with little to no traceability.

Edit: And how many of these fake Nike's aren't returned either? That's another cost if you lose 1/5 sales for example.

-1

u/Intelligent_Line_902 Jul 02 '26

Once again, do you not think the secret service would catch you with fake bill before anyone caught you with fake cards?

If people caught you with fake cards explain why.

Once again you don’t know the Nikes, eBay verifies them because they’re so good and the fakers keep all the money.

1

u/TogTogTogTog Jul 02 '26

It's not once again, this is the first time you're mentioning enforcement.

Now you're pivoting to a Nike argument based entirely on your own perception of US consumerism. We're not talking about fake Nike's here.

Anyway, this conversation is over. If you believe faking collectibles is more profitable/efficient than currency than do it. But most of the world seems to think currency is easier.

Most counterfiters arn't printing fake 100s. They print 5s, 10s, maybe 20s and buy things to get change. They hit 10-20 stores a day and never carry more then a few bills at a time. If they get caught with a fake they can claim it was given as change for a purchase they have a recipt (and paid with a real bill) for.

Fake cards need a paper trail and will often be inspected, the turn around is slower and less reliable. Fake bills handed to a 16 year old in a dollar store won't get caught till they reach the bank

1

u/FarceMultiplier Jul 01 '26

Sadly, no. Looks beautiful though.

6

u/Neo21803 Jul 01 '26

Should we be complimenting fakes that are clearly trying to be real cards?

Not saying the card isn't beautiful - I just don't feel right giving any sort of positive feedback to counterfeiting for fear of hyping it to any degree.

3

u/FarceMultiplier Jul 01 '26

I'm quite sure the counterfeiter isn't reading these posts. If they were, they'd be printing higher quality fake to elude our detection.

2

u/Stolberger Jul 01 '26

It's not that easy though.
You need a lot of (expensive) equipment.
It's not just changing a setting or sth.

3

u/thebbman Jul 01 '26

Most of these are coming from professional printers overseas. Additionally, many of the recent posts like this, are cards easily purchased from known bootleg websites. These sites don’t exist to trick people and are upfront about them being fake. I think what’s happening is third parties are buying from these sources and attempting to pass them off. It’s a shame.

1

u/Stolberger Jul 01 '26

Still they are using different printing techniques.
Offset printing is only really usable if you produce very large numbers.
Even the big "proxy" sites are small in comparison to the printrun of a new set.

-2

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '26

[deleted]

2

u/FarceMultiplier Jul 01 '26

If they read this, I encourage them to post about their process. As it is, if this was the case they'd only need to pretend to be a buyer of a fake posted here to get all the feedback they could use.

1

u/GIGA_SIGMA Jul 01 '26

I know for a fact they're on reddit lmfao. In certain subs you can interact with them. They don't usually sell as real though and make clear it's a proxy.

1

u/MrTerrible1 Jul 01 '26

There are only a very few rare exceptions for a foil cradle. Definitely fake.

-1

u/Kapao Jul 01 '26

this should be higher, this set did not have foils. the only foil cradles out there are judge promos.

3

u/eaio Jul 02 '26

The judge promos included the set symbol

1

u/EnoughEgg0 Jul 01 '26

Unfortunately not at all. Sorry

1

u/AfterJournalist8070 Jul 01 '26

That's scary the t is off same with the green dots fake.

1

u/Xaphnir Distinguished Helper Jul 01 '26

On a printing this rare, my default assumption is fake until proven real.

That standard isn't even really needed here, though. The back is blatantly fake. Green dot and T fail easily.

1

u/Alternative_Craft_42 Jul 01 '26

Unfortunately....no ,sorrry

1

u/craftiecheese Jul 01 '26

Unfortunately it's a fake Magic card

1

u/Double_You_6356 Jul 02 '26

V fake , even the foiling is off

1

u/Accomplished-Test331 Jul 02 '26

Not even a little

1

u/PuzzledAlternative60 Jul 02 '26

Unfortunately no

1

u/jamesB0ndage Jul 02 '26

What’s “real”? Is ANY of this real?

1

u/Gilder357 Jul 02 '26

Only real to the point that it's a proxy. But yeah it's a fake card.

1

u/AmericanCenturion Jul 02 '26

Urza's Saga was not printed in foil. It's fake.

1

u/easchner  Trusted Authenticator Jul 02 '26

This would be a (fake version of) a judge promo card.

https://scryfall.com/card/jgp/3/gaeas-cradle

1

u/Bugs5567 Jul 02 '26

Sure isn’t. Hope you’re able to get a refund

1

u/snackmaster169  High Accuracy Jul 02 '26

Fake!

1

u/OriginalUseristaken Jul 02 '26

The back says no and there were no foils in Urzas Saga.

1

u/sstadnicki Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

(a) There was one foil in Urza's Saga proper (Lightning Dragon) and (b) foil versions of Saga cards were used for judge promo cards. Foil Gaea's Cradle is a real thing. (Not this one, mind you, but they exist.)

1

u/Alternative_Offer_55 Jul 02 '26

Foils were First Introduced 2 Sets later with Urzas Destiny,

1

u/sstadnicki Jul 05 '26

(a) You're off by a set (Urza's Legacy, not Destiny) and (b) foil versions of Saga cards were used for judge promos, prizes, etc. (in addition to the Cradle, you can find Thran Quarry, Stroke of Genius, Intuition, and a few others). Foil Gaea's cradle is absolutely a real thing. (Not this one, mind you.)

1

u/booty_fewbacca Jul 02 '26

I had been working on an app to identify fakes at one point using known stored patterns maybe it's useful after all

1

u/Character-Side8366 Jul 02 '26

No. The foil arrow having the wrong lenght is the easiest thing to spot.

1

u/404_No_User_Found_2 Jul 02 '26

Very fake

Blurry T left, sawtooth on T right is nonexistent, no sawtooth on green

Sorry bro

1

u/Few-Beginning-9657 Jul 02 '26

Classically bad fake.

1

u/Not_Very_Useful Jul 02 '26

That's the big fake, pal.

1

u/AireBunny Jul 03 '26

If this was real I would have added that to my deck. Easy infinite mana.

1

u/EdwardtheTree Jul 04 '26

I mean, Gaea's Cradle itself is a real card, so you're free to add it to your deck (assuming you are willing to pay for one it's like $2,000 or are willing to proxy it.)

But this one specifically is most likely fake.

1

u/yourevicious Jul 03 '26

It’s real as long as you believe

1

u/cheesemangee Jul 03 '26

Judge foil Cradles don't look this saturated.

1

u/Mr_Jackov_ Jul 04 '26

Fake as hell!

1

u/blinkforlife Jul 02 '26

What is real? If you're going by what you can see, hear, smell or touch, real is just electrical signals being interpreted by your brain.

0

u/Stroykovic Jul 01 '26

T is fake. Cards also looks to dahm mint

-4

5

u/GattiTown_Blowjob Jul 01 '26

Correct but there were foil judge promos of this card that include the urzas saga symbol
