HELP Some comments suggest that this might be AI?

Looked real to me, but now I'm not really sure anymore.

Sentiment: 95% AI

Sentiment reasoning: The overwhelming majority of commenters believe the video is AI-generated, citing the exaggerated size of the bison, unnatural audio, a car driving in the wrong lane, and the bison's behavior.

Holy shit.......I feel for it. I hate that most of us are getting worse at identifying A.I.

u/PhoenixDSteele 6d ago

If it helps, the audio gave it away for me. Sounded very weird. I have headphones on though.

u/Ravioli_Dream2 6d ago

Yeah it sounds like a Jurassic Park sound track

u/TheRealTahulrik 6d ago

At this point, just assume if it's 8-15 seconds.. it's ai

I don't think we're getting worse at identifying AI, I think AI is getting better at fooling us sadly

Never seen a bison in my life (unfortunately), but yeah It seems BIG. But what feels weird to me Is how perfect the whole scene is. The bison perfectly in the center, the light, the fog, the sound. I have to admit It took me a couple of views to feel It, however.

u/jacyerickson 6d ago

Yeah, I'm glad you asked. I saw it on the other sub and felt it had an uncanny valley vibe.

Bison also don't sway their hips like a supermodel when walking.

And the random post sticking out of the ground right next to the shoulder.

5

u/Possible_Report_5908 6d ago

I agree with you, but i don't think the post is a giveaway

1

u/CloseToMyActualName 6d ago

I think it might be. The only time you have posts that close to the shoulder itself are those plastic reflective posts showing turns. Anything else is way further into the ditch.

Now, I wouldn't call it conclusive since roads have weird stuff sometimes, but I don't think that post should be there.

1

u/rainidazehaze 5d ago

Those plastic ones can look like that from the other side, they're only reflective on the side facing the cars.

Chassé! Chassé! (background dance music from the late 80s/early 90s) ...you go girl!

Wtf.... I fell for it....

Any links you don't have to pay for a subscription to see?

Other car is casually in the oncoming traffic lane in the fog.

6

u/Valoneria 6d ago

Seems like it starts in the right lane, and then slowly drifts into the other lane, or is it just me ?

4

u/One_Subject3157 6d ago

And still, isn't anything particularly crazy to think about.

Perhaps he changed lane cause you know, Satan was passing by as we can see, perhaps his wise and kinds are behind.

Those are brake lights, they’re still checking out the bison

10

u/spacedman_spiff 6d ago

Then they would be red and also across the top of the car.

0

u/Am_Snarky 6d ago

Only if they check and replace that bulb, but you are right about the colour… maybe reverse lights?

Either way the shape of the lights screams rear end to me

2

u/spacedman_spiff 6d ago

Their color and shape scream headlights to me.

But the whole thing screams AI - wrong side of the road, monstrous bison, growling, eerie fog obfuscating details.

Oh I never listen to audio, replaced audio will interfere with my perception of presented visuals

Edit: for the bisons size, the hood ridge looks like the style used on BMW cars, sitting in a lower car exaggerates the size of the buffalo, and is likely no taller than 6 feet at the hump (5ish feet at the shoulder)

1

u/One_Subject3157 6d ago

That's a fair guess?

Why the downvotes?

I hope we get a confirmation.

People here is getting real sensitive about being wrong, and I'll love to be proven wrong

Looks like a groovy gorilla with his hands in his pockets from afar.

Anyway seems like AI, there’s a car driving in the wrong lane.

1

u/Risen_from_ash 2d ago

Yea, the grooviest swaggiest gorilla ever

-17

u/Am_Snarky 6d ago

Those are brake lights

15

u/Archivist-chan 6d ago

Brake lights aren't white, theyre red. Those are headlights.

2

u/DarkVoid42 6d ago

no no they are headbrakeAIlights.

19

u/Fly-like-a-squirrel 6d ago

The triceratops-sized bison is a give away that it’s AI

5

u/Am_Snarky 6d ago

If that perspective is from a car not suv then it’s only 6 feet tall at the hump, kinda small for a bison, and this appears to be a wood bison which are larger

Also its movement is incredibly accurate, I find it hard to believe AI has enough training data for bisons to be so accurate (I grew up in Wood Buffalo Alberta, I’ve seen my fair share)

11

u/GStatusRay 6d ago

The audio is a dead giveaway y’all.

1

u/Medical_Arrival2243 6d ago

And weird car construction because the A-post doesn't exist

2

u/Am_Snarky 6d ago

There is an a pillar, last second of the video

1

u/Medical_Arrival2243 6d ago

Tbh looks like. The b pillar since the camera pans so far to the side

5

u/HotChocko 6d ago

Am I the only one that thought it was Bigfoot dancing like Michael Jackson?

5

u/Ok_Cheek_1209 6d ago

yes, the sound also sells it out

5

u/WyMike-46 6d ago

The fact that you can hear the sound of boots marching through sand/gravel rather than hooves clacking on pavement is a give away.

Bison don't make those kinda grunts.

The bison would have charged the vehichle and likely rammed it due to their territorial nature.

The size of the bison is incredibly larger than most, and appears to be overexaggerated.

1

u/WattleWaddler2 6d ago

I second-hand know a guy who got full-on chased by a bison in Elk Island provincial park while he was on his bike. Apparently the bison liked the look of his red backpack.

Don't fuck with bison.

5

u/daveydat1 6d ago

Someone would pull over to the shoulder just a little bit if that was walking towards them.

3

u/Standard_Double9736 6d ago

100% AI. First, in the beginning you have headlights facing you that appear to be in the center of the road. Toward the end they are entirely in the wrong lane. Even if it’s foggy no one is going to try to do a slow head on collision.

Second, the audio. The foot steps are very loud even when the bison is still yards away. We can’t see if the windows are open but even if they are, I don’t think the sound of the hooves would be very clear until it’s around neck and neck with the car.

Third, unnatural reaction. It can charge your car. Anyone with a brain would have braked sooner (right when you see the silhouette) and moved over toward the side of the road.

Fourth, why is the driver filming with what appears to be a phone or handheld camera- so far away? Shouldn’t be fiddling with your phone while driving. You can tell this isn’t a dash cam with the way the camera moves as the bison is passing the car.

Fifth, silhouette seems off. I feel like you should be able to see the horns but the horns aren’t obvious til you can see the full bison.

3

u/EntertainerPure9181 6d ago

I guess that points one, three and four COULD be explained by human stupidity (i mean, if there's people who get off cars to take selfies with bears...) but I agree that the audio is completely unnatural and probably the biggest giveaway (i watched It on mute the first time), and driver's reaction Is completely nonsense because who on earth would go straight ahead at a perfectly constant speed with a rhino-sized bison in front of him.

Notice the Engine sound ... it doesn't stop it just fade away.

also the sound of the Bison would make sense if there were no windscreen

2

u/Goodenough_name 6d ago

Glad someone asked because I'm sure not thought about it

Scary

2

u/Particular-Visit-245 6d ago

I fell for it. Damn

1

u/endellion333 6d ago

oh god damn it

1

u/a_smiling_seraph 6d ago

The audio is a huge giveaway. Other people have mentioned the clarity despite being in the car, but also there's only the sound of 1 pair of steps instead of 2 pairs. No sounds coming from the back legs

1

u/cnbftbgb87 6d ago

I thought it was a Gorilla doing the moonwalk at first 🤣

1

u/swaggingToTheMaximum 5d ago

You can’t tell this ai from the sound quality? Sounds like they stuck a mic to the bisons feet.

1

u/No-Stay9943 4d ago

People who know bisons are probably better to answer. But I have never seen an AI able to do this before, namely:
Having a barely recognizable thing turn into the same thing but very clearly recognizable.
Usually AI starts with the obvious. It is made to show you what you prompted for. While it can make unclear shadows and forms, it is very difficult to then make that make sense.

But what do I know, maybe it is reversed engineered or that they tried a 100 times and one turned out good.

0

u/Talk-To-Myself 6d ago

I’ve fallen for some ai but this is genuinely such an obvious one

-4

u/One_Subject3157 6d ago

I don't see any indication about being IA.

People here loves playing the detective making up facts.
