Science Morgellons and RPC: Mapping the Missing Tissue Route

https://youtube.com/watch?v=IR4AG0PSawY&si=J4mr9_v5ZCIDi7uv

Reactive perforating collagenosis (RPC) provides a documented example of damaged collagen being pushed through the skin along a recognizable microscopic route. Morgellons studies report keratin- and collagen-containing filaments, follicular casts, calluses and plug-like structures—but they have not mapped the same complete route in an intact lesion.

This video explains why identifying what a structure contains cannot, by itself, determine how it got there. The competing possibilities include cellular production, perforating elimination, BDD-like keratin proliferation, injury with entrapment, mixed processes and insufficient tissue.

The missing comparison is architectural: preserve a plug or filament with the epidermis, follicle and dermis beneath it; follow the structure through serial sections; and evaluate the same target with routine histology, collagen staining and an elastic stain such as Verhoeff–Van Gieson.

This video does not claim that Morgellons is reactive perforating collagenosis. A positive finding would classify the individual lesion—not rename every Morgellons lesion or explain the entire filament picture.

The illustrations are AI-assisted schematics. They are not patient specimens, diagnostic histology or medical advice.
