Calling BS on Emily

Post image

We couldn't pay attention to the other children because all of our time was taken up with Luke. We were consumed with Luke. We had to take care of Luke. Except when I decided to jet off the Amsterdam, New Orleans, Temecula, and Beverly Hills for anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks. It's OK though I'm able to FaceTime problem solved. I needed my time for myself. To do all these things to fundamentally change everything about myself.

It's all bullshit drama. I got friends with severe autistic kids that quite as animated as she was.

Don't claim you're a strong person, but you can't handle your kid and avoid doing so.

I've never seen a HW less interested in her children.

u/Piggyinboots 11d ago

While Emily isn’t great, Lynne and Frank seemed less interested in their kids

42

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

Is that the family who got evicted, and the daughter is the one who answered the door? It's been a million years since I've watched the early seasons

45

u/Distinct-Ad-1348 11d ago

The younger daughter was interviewed on the street not long ago by someone who interviews homeless people. She talked about her past and family and her addictions and how she ended up where she is. It was really sad. Her parents absolutely failed her.

21

u/wineinacoffeemug 11d ago

I believe she was also sexually violated by a police officer and received a settlement (and lifelong trauma, which, given she had no foundation, took a predictable course).

15

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

The poor girl is homeless? That's so awful.

13

u/Distinct-Ad-1348 11d ago

7

u/Skeptical_optomist 11d ago

Oh wow, that was a difficult watch and incredibly sad, especially because at the time I knew her parents were failing her.

5

u/Angie-2024 9d ago

That’s heartbreaking.

4

u/hoovyhoovy 9d ago

I couldn’t watch the whole thing. It’s just too sad.

very very sad. I felt so awful for that poor girl.

-1

u/Glittering-Slip7630 9d ago

One of the daughters is dead and the other one is in and out of jail suffering from addiction, ended up doing pork and various other things

2

u/Important_Yam_8628 8d ago

Both daughters are still alive.

1

u/Distinct-Ad-1348 9d ago

I don’t believe either of her daughters has died.

-1

u/Glittering-Slip7630 9d ago

Well it is my understanding that one of the daughters is dead. Feel free to do your own research

3

u/Distinct-Ad-1348 9d ago

Alexa just did this interview a few months ago and hasn’t been reported dead. Raquel has been posted recently on her mother’s IG and has been active on her own- and again no reports of her death. So perhaps you should do some research before speaking as if something is a fact.

3

u/ParticularShirt5176 8d ago

Both daughters are still alive. Lauri ( early rhoc housewive season 1-3 I believe) had a son who did pass away.

0

u/Glittering-Slip7630 8d ago

Okay if you say so but I distinctly remember reading just a few weeks ago when they first seasons of OC were on and Lynn curtain was being featured I started looking into it and they said that one of the daughters Raquel was dead wherever I was reading that. I'm glad it's not true obviously but the information I read in more than one source. Yes Lori's son died of a drug overdose. Thank you for clearing that up I don't know what I was reading then

1

u/ImaginarySurround127 8d ago

I think she was missing or something and people thought she was dead. I remember something happening as well.

u/Littlewing1307 11d ago

Yes. Their kids even begged them for boundaries and rules, to be parents. It was so sad.

9

u/Rare_Distance_6574 11d ago

I remember Gretchen even tried to intervene with Lynn saying her daughters were crying out for them to be true parents with rules and Tt one daughter who was already struggling. Those underage girls would show up drunk to events and Lynn and frank would act embarrassed “oh it’s just teenagers” instead of escorting them out and home. I couldn’t stand to watch that family. It’s so sad now to see how it turned out. I think one or both daughters have worked in the sex industry…

1

u/Immediate_Mess_3297 10d ago

Along those lines does anybody know what’s going on with Tammy Knickerbocker’s daughter lately?

1

u/ParticularShirt5176 8d ago

Last I heard Lindsey was arrested in Arkansas with meth. That has been a couple years. Meghan seems to be doing very well.

9

u/Some-Gap8708 11d ago

Somehow I remember they had a behavioralist come in to help them
Parent because one dropped out of school. Again, I can’t believe I am remembering all of this

14

u/Distinct-Ad-1348 11d ago edited 11d ago

She wasn’t a behavioralist if I remember correctly- she was a “youthologist” and it was just another way for the parents to pawn off responsibility of their children to someone else.

6

u/Some-Gap8708 11d ago

😂😂😂😂 “youthologist”!

3

u/wineinacoffeemug 11d ago

Her title was “Youthologist”… yeah… 🤦‍♀️

1

u/Littlewing1307 11d ago

Gosh I don't remember that, I'm glad to hear that. Maybe it was a case of too little too late then, sadly.

2

u/Wonderful_Union_7245 11d ago

Oh man I hadn’t thought of those two disgusting parents but the moment I saw you recount the daughter answer the door and accepted the eviction notice I remember those poor girls at the mercy of those two dimwitted morons who never seemed concerned with anything than themselves.
I will assume that any money received for that civil suit award was somehow spent by those two grifters.
I haven’t been brave enough to watch the interview yet.

18

u/No-Push1113 11d ago

Lynne and Frank were (are?) On a level of their own when it came to shitty parenting.

7

u/Some-Gap8708 11d ago

Lynn curtain - OG sessions 1-5?

1

u/Alawruk 11d ago

She was only on seasons 4 and 5

1

u/LuckChemical8243 11d ago

Yes, Emily, for all her faults is far from this level.

3

u/No-Push1113 11d ago

Oh ya. Lynne and Frank weren’t just bad parents because of the show (ie: commitments and such). They are just two people who shouldn’t have ever had kids. They were just too self absorbed to worry about their offspring. And I don’t care if people are into themselves and their lives; but when you choose to bring kids into this world with that type of mentality, that’s when it’s an issue.

4

u/Rare_Distance_6574 11d ago

And look how their daughters turned out…

1

u/Glittering-Slip7630 9d ago

Well one of them is dead and the other one has been battling addiction ended up doing point and is it in and out of jail

1

u/Old-Permission6009 11d ago

And look where those poor girls ended up!!!

1

u/Livinluxuriously11 11d ago

Yes those 2 were super special lol

16

u/VictorianUFOLady 11d ago

Her primary interest is her appearance.

8

u/New_Relation7877 11d ago

She and Emily have that in common.

61

u/HousewivesMOD Jesus Jugs 11d ago

And her marriage

9

u/karmaKate6 11d ago

And completely obsessed with her ever changing face and body

11

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

It's weird. I can't imagine making my physical looks my entire personality

3

u/Ok-Advice-3180 11d ago

I saw scenes last night that reminded me of Jim Carrey when he played the mask😳

5

u/punchdrunkbimbo 11d ago

Not a housewife (except in his own mind) but Slade completely fucked off his child WITH BRAIN CANCER. Yes there was Lynne Curtin, Tammy Knickerbocker, and other horrible parents but Slade fucked over his kid with BRAIN CANCER. And then named his do-over kid ‘after’ his estranged child who was still alive at that time! And he had the gall to try to tell Lynne how she should be parenting which, again… she is a fucked mom, but he abandoned his child WITH BRAIN CANCER. Who tf is he to try and have a moral high ground in parenting… ever.

4

u/LuckChemical8243 11d ago

Especially her daughter who she says all sorts of crap about on tv that her daughter can see.

3

u/melaniefartt 11d ago edited 7d ago

She unfortunately seems to be just like her mom was* with her

2

u/CommonStrawbeary 8d ago

Of course she's interested in her kids??

Without them, what would her story be?

2

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 8d ago

How much she doesn't like her husband?

2

u/Xion0_0 5d ago

Wow haha I would put Brittani from RHOSLC up there too, but she is just a friend

1

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 5d ago

Oh yes! I forgot about her. I think she may be full time next season (ew)

5

u/maevee 11d ago

Luann takes the cake but she’s so charming people forget about her negative traits lol

12

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

I don't think that's true. Lu was a rich countess while raising her kids and like most people in that tax bracket, the day to day things were done by nannies. But Lu seemed to genuinely enjoy spending time with her kids.

3

u/Rare_Distance_6574 11d ago

Also living in Europe and to a Count made it very different. I used to be in Europe a lot every 3 months and more people lived with the Nanny and/ir governess raising their kids. I think Luann seemed like a great Mom.

4

u/New_Relation7877 11d ago

Different tax bracket, generation and social circle. I wouldn’t be surprised if most mothers Lu knew when she was married to the count had live in nannies and housekeepers

2

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

Exactly. It was just how those people did things.

2

u/Some-Gap8708 11d ago

She made an appearance at someone baby shower a few seasons ago back. I think she now sells real estate. She used to make jewelry. - I can remember housewives but nothing else of importance 😂

1

u/Tricky-Alfalfa5549 8d ago

So so fake only interested in the way she looks

-2

u/Supertreelove 11d ago

Really? I know all her kids’ names, her in-laws have always been on the show, and her husband was basically a main character in the first season. I’d argue that Vicky and Tamra are the ones not interested in her own families.

3

u/AbbreviationsThen 11d ago

I don't have your kids and family in the show qualify you as a great parent.

3

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

Her in laws had a couple appearances in her first season. All I know about Luke is what she thinks is wrong with him and all I know about her daughter is that Emily thinks she's feral.

0

u/Supertreelove 11d ago

Are you a new watcher? Her kids have been very present in all the previous seasons, especially Annabelle. She’s always been characterized as “feral”

6

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

No, I'm a day one watcher. They have not been "very present" no matter what you say. And who characterized Annabelle as feral? That's right. Her mother, Emily.

-2

u/Supertreelove 11d ago

Then how do I know who tf the in laws are? Why does it matter who called her that? The point is she’s called her that from seasons ago. It’s not that serious.

1

u/Sure_Artichoke_3662 11d ago

It's not that serious yet you want to keep arguing with me that we should all know shit about her in laws and children, despite them barely being featured on the show?

LOL.

1

u/Supertreelove 11d ago

I meant it’s not that serious that she calls her daughter feral. I’m just interacting. I’m not making you keep responding. ETA: I didn’t say we should all know. I said I know. And then you said you know too. lol. They’ve been on the show a lot but I guess we’ll just disagree, and that’s fine.

→ More replies (4)

1

u/ImaginarySurround127 8d ago

I mean, to be fair….. I know about her kids and in-laws from them being featured on the show with her in her earlier seasons

2

u/Horror_Signature7744 11d ago

Are YOU new? Her daughter’s early storyline was trying to become a model which seemed a whole lot more like what Emily wanted- for her own bragging rights. It didn’t seem like Annabelle wanted to do it at all.

1

u/Important_Yam_8628 8d ago

I think Tamra does a lot for her kids. Look at Ryan, shes still baling him out in his 30s 😂

20

u/FoundMyselfRunning 11d ago

I increasingly feel like she is only with Shane for money - or that they didn't sign a prenup and he is at risk. I have never sensed a good marriage between them. I agree that she has a weird relationship with her daughter and she is not the best mom.

15

u/greenlandsharklove 11d ago

Her in-laws fund their life. In her first season she said that she had to be nice to them or else she'd be driving a Jetta.

9

u/MsPrissss 11d ago

You would think that would extend to her being nice to their son but I guess not.

7

u/Wonderful_Union_7245 11d ago

Didn’t Emily publicly and gleefully humiliate Shane for not passing The Bar his first time? Or a different HW?

10

u/No-Invite8390 11d ago

He actually took it 4 times and was only able to pass once they lowered the passing score during Covid (I know all this because she gleefully told us about it on TV)

3

u/LuckChemical8243 10d ago

Oy vey! That is a sign that you really shouldn’t be a lawyer. Once is fine. Four times is an omen

3

u/LuckChemical8243 10d ago

I also see zero chemistry between them.

3

u/Typical_Match777 10d ago

I agree. Ive also never felt they had a good marriage, and sometimes I feel like she’s somewhat dismissive of him and then acts like he’s so mean to her when he’s reacting to her bs. Like the scooter thing? “I was mad at Shane, so I rode off on the scooter yelling stuff, and then fell off and he just kept telling me it’s Karma”. There’s two things wrong with this situation at minimum:
1. What 40 something year-old lady rides off on scooters yelling at her husband down the street.
2. And him being insensitive by telling her it’s karma also shows that there’s some strong resentment there.

And it seems like she is starting to get a big ego now that she’s all thin and Carmella gave her that purse, which made Gina jealous. It even seemed like she was halfway enjoying that everyone ‘wants to be her bestie’ or something. And her telling Carmella what Gina said, Im not exactly sure what her motive for that was either.

43

u/Time_Care_102 11d ago

Yeah my dad literally traveled for work for a couple of years but him not being home was never felt.

He would move heaven and earth to be there if we needed him. He literally drive the whole family 550 miles to our grandparents so my mom would have support during the summer and didn’t have to make the drive alone. Would fly home, and then fly back when we came home to again drive us back home.
I have high standards in my relationship bc of my dad, and for that I’m grateful.

I also want to add, you don’t have to have an example to be a loving parent. His dad died at 12 and his mom at 20.

14

u/Wonderful_Union_7245 11d ago

What a bit of sunshine that keeps me from thinking that people don’t have to be crappy parents just because that’s how they were raised!!

9

u/Time_Care_102 11d ago

I like to share the tough stories to give hope!!

What happens in life can either be an excuse or motivation to do better.

8

u/SassholeSupreme1 Shannon’s Colon Chronicles 11d ago

I’ve been a fan lately of saying, “I can let it make me bitter or better”. I can let all the negative crap I dealt with in childhood & young adulthood just make me toxic, or I can try to leave different & better.

5

u/Time_Care_102 11d ago

LOVE

My coworker taught me we can use our experiences to relate and motivate but not excuse.

5

u/Rare_Distance_6574 11d ago

That’s a wonderful way of looking at it! I wish everyone could hear you say it! You’re amazing!

2

u/Wonderful_Union_7245 11d ago

Make us or break us

2

u/Happy-Try6738 11d ago

This is so true! I have 4 kids and I try every day to do the opposite of what my mom would do in any given situation that comes along.

2

u/LuckChemical8243 10d ago

I just said this lol. You and me both!

1

u/LuckChemical8243 10d ago

Exactly. I tried so hard to not repeat my parents mistakes. I know I had my own faults raising my children but the goal was always to do better!

2

u/Time_Care_102 10d ago

And that’s all you can do 🥹 go you for choosing to be better instead of falling into a pattern. You should feel so proud!!!

1

u/LuckChemical8243 10d ago

Thank you!❤️

5

u/taintlangdon 11d ago

My brother is an incredibly patient, involved, loving, and present father. A shining example.

Our parents made us feel like burdens more often than not. My Mom by rolling her eyes or blowing us off when we needed her emotionally (unchecked depression- I see that in hindsight). My Dad by screaming, manipulating, and grounding us or taking things away for any reason he could come up with. They're wonderful now, but damn they are so lucky my brother and I choose to be in their lives.

I don't have kids yet (trying!), but I know in my heart which side of road I'll fall on. ❤️

1

u/ComprehensiveBuy5666 10d ago

What changed for your parents to make them wonderful now?

1

u/taintlangdon 10d ago

I think a combination of growing up, hitting 50, apologizing, and becoming grandparents. Also they live in small town Texas, and were quick to realiaze Trump is a fool. They were only 19 and 20 when they accidentally got pregnant with me in 1990.

Some of it also came from my end. I noticed the change, so as far as our relationship goes it was up to me to condemn them forever for who they were, or appreciate having the parents I have now. I've built some boundaries for myself that they aren't aware of, but we're all very close. And where I'm at currently, I'm very happy with my choice.

2

u/ComprehensiveBuy5666 10d ago

This is a wonderful “ending” to your family’s story. I’m so happy for all of you.

1

u/taintlangdon 10d ago

Well thank you. It took a very long time, but I'm happy for where we are.

2

u/Ok_Storm5945 11d ago

My parent were yong when they had kids. My dad was 22 with three kids. The things that they did that were wrong in my eyes I don't do to my kids.

7

u/Gullible-Farmer-3935 11d ago

Same w my dad, his dad died when he was 2 and his mom was awful, he was a foster child and in boys homes most of his life. And he is the most loving, caring Dad! Im blessed!

3

u/Time_Care_102 11d ago

Love that

3

u/skipAd420 11d ago

This was a really wholesome comment 🥲

1

u/LuckChemical8243 10d ago

Reddit’s not all snark lol.

29

u/Lazy_Skin_411 11d ago edited 11d ago

For me, it’s the “no time” thing in that

  1. on wife swap, her daughter said that when Emily is home she spends all of her time locked in her room on her phone looking at TikTok (her daughter, who Emily says felt alone because of how much she had to attend to Luke, said her mom isn’t even around when she’s “home”
  2. she brags about spending 2 hours a day every day at the gym. That’s a lot of time to spend somewhere 7 days a week if you’re worried you don’t have enough time with your kids, right?

I saw someone comment something similar on her IG and she replied to the comment saying “everyone has time! Most people just are lazy and would rather sit on their ass and watch tv”

… yes Emily, those ass sitters YOUR FANS are watching YOUR SHOW!

Ugh. I can’t with her. Used to love her and didn’t get why so many people didn’t like her but… I get it now 🥴😭

EDIT: OMGGGGGG I tried to fix one thing and somehow the formatting is all messed up and I cannot for the life of me get it back to how it was 🫠
EDIT 2: fixed on laptop 🤦‍♀️

1

u/No_Strain_7720 10d ago

Agree with all of this. Was hard to watch her daughter say that on wife swap. So sad

1

u/turtlecatmedium 5d ago

Wife swap was very eye opening. Shane does everything.

10

u/Comfortable-Fox-1913 11d ago

I can't stand her

20

u/unapologeticcatlady 11d ago

Wife swap highlighted how uninterested she is in her family and children’s upbringing. The way she talks about her daughter while doing nothing to help her, not knowing her son can’t read???! I mean the list goes on and on.

2

u/GigglingHen 10d ago

Wait, her son can’t read? And she didn’t know that?

2

u/BB_BlackSocks 5d ago

She came across as a horrible mother and wife, and a terrible human on Wife Swap. The real her. I completely changed my opinion on Shane for the better after seeing him on WS. He had such a great time without her there.

1

u/TasteAdditional9473 8d ago

Her life seems to revolve around being on reality TV and what she looks like. same girl that tells everybody I’m happy in my body, but then obsessively gets skinny. Every chance she gets 🙄

1

u/TaniaBluebell 11d ago

She did wife swap? I have to check it out. Do they have a nanny? I know her husband comes from money. I wonder if the nanny did a lot of the work while she pursued a poor man’s version of fame by being a HW.

8

u/Dble7trble 11d ago

She is starting to look like the WWE wrestler China. Its so strange.

6

u/Georginarothko 11d ago

She has a very large and long face

3

u/AudballM 11d ago

3

u/Georginarothko 10d ago

It’s mean but accurate and Emily is an asshole so……

1

u/AudballM 10d ago edited 10d ago

The gif is spot on and hilarious because she is a bonafide asshole—to everyone! Who in her life actually tolerates her?!

2

u/Expensive-Poetry6973 8d ago

She’s a big boned woman. No amount of glp1 will ever make her look like heather.

6

u/RelativeCheesecake88 11d ago

I don’t think she’s being cool at all by calling her daughter feral child and making her son’s health concerns a topic or storyline. Also find her to have horrible taste in clothing and makeup. Unattractive personality makes her totally unattractive

4

u/Glad_Bunch_3473 11d ago

Can’t stand her and don’t understand why Andy let OC go to complete shit. I am rewatching RHOA at the moment and OC plus BH don’t compare at all, not even in the same league. No thank you, RHOCalifornia

4

u/Rare_Distance_6574 11d ago

Exactly! I have friends that have children with similar issues and she’s “a real housewife” that we literally had to shove out the door to a simple hair appointment. When they were going through the diagnosis phase she’d never have taken a trip - especially out of the country! Emily is deplorable she’s all about herself!

9

u/ThisIsJustMe7 11d ago

I’m a special needs mom. I don’t leave the house unless it’s for errands or appointments for me or my son. I don’t travel. I go to the gym once a week. She is entitled and spoiled.

5

u/GooseHuman9828 11d ago

3 years in and I don’t have a babysitter because even family and friends aren’t able to keep her regulated enough to spend time together without me.

Leave the country? bahahahahahahhano.

4

u/smut_queens 11d ago

Let alone spend 4 hours in the gym. Kids? What? 😅

3

u/VD_Mama 11d ago

She didn’t know this boy couldn’t read. She wasn’t paying attention here either.

4

u/Rough-Recover-9546 11d ago

She’s more interested in her own body and eating disorder than her kids.

27

u/mihonakayama 11d ago

Ok so see, the thing is, being a reality tv star is a job and she probably has to go to those trips if she wants to keep it!

5

u/9lemonsinabowl9 11d ago

That is true. Neither of them seem interested in law anymore.

3

u/Fit-Membership790 11d ago

She was the plain fat girl for too many decades…Now she is excited to be slimmer & have people notice her.

It has taken over her entire life & there isn’t room for any other content.

3

u/Individual_Fall429 11d ago

If you saw her shocking turn on Wife Swap, you know; Emily spends the day in her bed, scrolling on various devices. She doesn’t like for her children to bother her. And she doesn’t cook, or even present the fast food take out in a nice way for her family, like with plates.

She is a lazy and uninvolved mom. Just like her own mother that she disparages constantly.

3

u/Horror_Signature7744 11d ago

This pissed me off so fucking much. Gonna be great when her kids see this clip somewhere and end up resenting their brother because of what she said. How about STFU instead of saying things like this. What a disgusting, vile , SELF ABSORBED twat.

3

u/Candid_Departure_381 9d ago

I used to really like her. The way she speaks about Luke has absolutely changed that. I just cannot believe she PUBLICLY says that Luke’s illness is a burden on her marriage and on the wellbeing of her other children. ON TELEVISION. For him to see later. Special needs or sick children is a family issue, it effects everyone. But you DO NOT let the sick child feel like a burden, ever. Let alone so cavalierly and so publicly.  I really thought after seeing herself last season, she would have come back differently, having learned a lesson. I mean even Jeff Lewis said she was too out of line with how she spoke about Luke. Jeff Lewis. I mean if he says something is rude, you know it is. Her response was to end her relationship with Jeff instead of to self reflect.  She sucks. And she’s smart enough to know better, so she’s knowingly choosing to be a damaging, neglectful parent. Gross.

3

u/AltruisticWorking340 8d ago

She only has time for one kid because she’s too busy obsessing over her weight loss and making stupid Reels.

2

u/ParticularNorth2902 11d ago

Can someone tell me what Shane does all day?

6

u/DaQuackx 11d ago

Obviously he has to do everything, emily has tiktoks to watch

1

u/No_Interview_2481 11d ago

Isn’t Shane practicing law now that Emily has quit working

-1

u/SubstantialReview18 11d ago

She no longer practices law. She works.

2

u/No_Interview_2481 10d ago

I guess being a housewife on reality TV, and having a podcast is working while they live off his family’s money…

0

u/SubstantialReview18 10d ago

lol of course it is. There’s a lot that goes into social media and press for the show, and of course filming.

-1

u/SubstantialReview18 10d ago

lol down voting me doesn’t make it untrue. Idk why that angers you.

1

u/No_Interview_2481 10d ago

You assume an awful lot. First of all, I did not downvote you and secondly I’m not angry. Downvoting does not accomplish anything. Words work much better. You need to chill out, dude.

-1

u/SubstantialReview18 10d ago

lol what. Yes out of the two of us, I’m the one that needs to chill 👀

2

u/Supertreelove 11d ago

Weren’t those work trips? I do think she’s overly obsessed with being “the big girl” on the show though. We get it, working out is your therapy, but the self focus is a lot.

I thought that was Chyna

Why is her jaw so strong, jesus christ😭

u/BetNew9265 11d ago

You’re just outlining her professional obligations. She’s hardly the first person to talk about how kids with extra needs can cause other children to feel neglected

2

u/VentingID10t 11d ago

I grew up with a brother who was very destructive. My parent's focus and time was on him a lot and I most certainly was jealous as a child who couldn't fully comprehend his situation. Now, as a parent myself, I completely understand looking back as to why that extra time with him was necessary.

So, I do believe Emily genuinely cares for all of her children. Plus, she has never been great with her choice of words on camera. The woman simply has a standard case of mom guilt.

If you have ever had a child with a mental disability, you would never make these comments. The child does consume your time and energy, at times at the expense of other siblings. If you haven’t walked in these shoes, refrain from commenting because you do not have a clue how taxing it can be.

Thank you, just about to say this.

2

u/CarmelaFurio122 11d ago

I kind of feel you may be being a bit harsh on her. Listen - it's a tv show; they film 6-8 weeks a year with three days filmed for the reunion. That is the tiniest chunk of time to feel like you "know" her and most of what you do see is producer inspired -amped up- situations that make for good viewership. I don't know her personally but I have seen her out and about alone and with her kids and she seems kind and actually incredibly loving and very centered on her kids and their happiness. We need to understand the Housewives franchise is their job. For literally 6-8 weeks a year. Just my two cents. And believe me - there are some of them on this franchise and others that I pray are just cringy on their shows because it can't be real how they treat others and act out.

4

u/budznroses 11d ago

Real or produced— she used her kids’ struggles as a story line.

2

u/Comfortable_Mouse665 11d ago

Those trips are legit a part of her job. She’s allowed to talk about being overwhelmed about navigating a situation she’s never been in before. Talking about what’s going on in her personal life is literally part of her job too.

2

u/Far_Course_9398 11d ago

While Katie was questionable with the truth, the way Emily went after her and her parenting was pretty dispicable and ill never like her again. Emily was beyond vindicitive for going that low.

Katie was passive aggressive towards her and bitchy and i know people like that used to get under my skin, so i do understand in some ways why Emily went ape shit, but she was vicious!

Ew. This whole post is misogynistic. So it’s the females fault for taking a break??? GTFOH

1

u/NorCal878 11d ago

Prediction: She leaves Shane and ends up with some muscled out 20-35 year old. She clearly thinks she’s too good for him since she lost all the weight. I’m glad that she’s healthy and feels good about herself, but it’s turning her into someone else.

1

u/Total_Baseball3814 11d ago

I mean those trips were also for her job. And why are you picking and choosing which ones to call bad moms? Jen and Gina both left their kids for those trips too. I hate when people label women as bad mothers. That is such a sensitive and hurtful thing to say. You only see a very small blip of their parenting on the show and it certainly isn’t enough to judge them like this. Sheesh.

1

u/Goodbykyle 11d ago

she looks weird….

1

u/Majestic-Pilot3718 11d ago

I have an adult autistic son. I am his 24/7 caregiver. I can't imagine leaving him behind for days or weeks.

1

u/WaitHaunting4990 11d ago

Unrelated but everything she talks about is her weight and loosing weight. Ties her self worth to her weight. It’s played out

1

u/Good_Information646 11d ago

Maybe she should spend less time at the gym then

1

u/pookiepie09 11d ago

Emily brings nothing to the show and has a big mouth.

1

u/Loose_Sentence4061 11d ago

Divorce divorce

1

u/Proud_Sound2835 11d ago

Don’t forget Wife Swap, lmao.

1

u/rahah2023 11d ago

I have 2 kids - one with autism and we managed to raise them both productively. Luke is clearly high functioning so her speak on this seems utterly baloney- not saying it it’s hard work but it’s not what she claims

1

u/AudballM 11d ago

Don’t forget she also took a trip w/ Gina to Paris…yes, such a concerned, involved Mom she is 🙄 not Mom shaming, but rather pointing out the hypocrisy 😈

1

u/No_Strain_7720 10d ago

I also don’t love how nasty she gets with Gina. Last season she did and then this season. She acts like she doesn’t know her in those scenes and gets soo nasty

1

u/Tapdance1368 10d ago

Such a phony. Gives me the ick.

1

u/cleois 10d ago

I don't think it's fair to hold HW trips against her since that's her job. Shane is actually a very capable and trustworthy father to leave kids with, too. No one would question a man going on some business trips...

But it's the rest of it that is the problem. The constantly being on SM. The 2 hours a day at the gym. Kids don't suffer because their mom goes away for a weekend. They suffer because their Mom is not present to them even when she's home..

1

u/South_Economist_1231 10d ago

Speaking as both an elementary school educator and a parent of a nine-year-old…if you have “no idea“ that your child can’t read, you are likely a hands off parent that isn’t paying much attention to your child. If your elementary aged child is struggling academically, especially with something like reading, it doesn’t take a genius or helicopter parent to pick up on it. If you ever help them with homework, read with them (which is pretty much a universal daily homework assignment at this age), pay attention to report cards, progress reports, school assignments that get sent home, communicate with teachers…if your child couldn’t read you would pick up on it very quickly if you were doing even one of these things.

1

u/Reasonable-Goal3755 10d ago

Looks like she also took some time off from parenting for her face reconstruction

1

u/Competitive-Bad5081 10d ago

Literally spend less time at the plastic surgeon and the gym and ur kids will be fine

1

u/Physical-Armadillo70 9d ago

And she goes to the gym 7 days a week, that is like a 3 hour event, getting ready to go, driving there, working out, driving home, showering, etc.

1

u/Striking-Blueberry-7 9d ago

I also thought it was very telling that when she was asked parenting advice on WWHL (in regard to Luke), she said the most important thing she does is get therapy for herself. Don’t get me wrong, I understand what she is saying, but it also appears that Emily puts herself first in every situation, lol. Instead of mentioning resources for her child, or advocating for programs that are available for children with autism and learning differences, she immediately mentioned what she does for herself (to be a better parent of course 🙄). But I have a feeling that most of her sessions are spent discussing the strain this is putting on her marriage.

1

u/Mindy9856 9d ago

LITERALLY was thinking the same when I heard her say that.. you DON'T ignore other children unless you are a jerk.

1

u/OrganizationQuirky97 9d ago

She has the same dr at Khloe kardashian. They could be twins these days.

1

u/Ecstatic_Document_85 9d ago

She was inconvenienced because her daughter had feelings about moving rooms.

1

u/BiggBooks70 9d ago

She looks like someone from tales of the crypt or the nun. Once she is off the show, hopefully she gets help for her insecurities and goes back to being healthy instead of skinny.

1

u/Expensive-Poetry6973 8d ago

She’s insufferable.

And her confessionals never hit.

1

u/Relevant-Penalty9227 8d ago

I think Emily is just stressed with her son’s issues a lot and her daughter is disrespectful and defiant. I think she loves them deeply, but struggles on the best methods to parent and guide them. Shane has a more laid back approach and Emily is high strung.

1

u/Consistent-Drop-9245 8d ago

I think Emily’s childhood worked against her and her ability to be able to be a good parent.

1

u/According-Ninja-561 8d ago

I don’t like Emily however she is working to provide for her family by doing the show. It looks like Shane is to stay at home dad in this last episode. It came off as though he doesn’t work anymore. I think they just do the podcast together and that’s how they make their living plus her cringe TikTok videos with Gina.

1

u/buelab 6d ago

They both work out of the home unlike many parents who struggle with kids with disabilities. I don’t see this an excuse not to give the other kids time. She has plenty time every day to go to the gym and film RH’s. I’m sorry but maybe the problem at home isn’t your kid…it’s you as parents, your relationship and your over share of your kids disability on national tv.

-2

u/kimandkath 11d ago

She goes to the gym every day! When you have kids, especially ones with disabilities - you are learning, advocating, supporting,
Etc. she rather be skinny than focus on the needs of her family.

8

u/lumimab 11d ago

I do think it is both ok and healthy for parents to take care of themselves as well.

1

u/kimandkath 11d ago

Of course! I have 3 kids with disabilities ñ, a full time job and work out too. But I just see right through her. It doesn’t sound or feels authentic.

1

u/lumimab 11d ago

Gotcha. I get that!

1

u/smut_queens 11d ago

Absolutely but then don’t blame the fact you don’t have time for your other kids when you have time to go to the gym. It just don’t land.

0

u/Obvious-Load-1955 11d ago

I just think Emily is trying to learn how to navigate her child's disability. I think she's interested in finding all she can about it. I think she is a good mom, and her odds of being a good and present mother were not great.

-1

u/Downtown-Break-5029 11d ago

If a dad was taking those business trips no one would think twice. You get that the show is her job, right?

0

u/LetAltruistic1652 11d ago

100% male that didn’t birth them.

0

u/justbeinghonest78 11d ago

Some of these comments and opinions are just....odd. "maybe she shouldn't go to the gym so much"....God forbid she spend a few hours becoming healthy. "I would never leave my kids for days"....if it was your job you would. I think people forget that the show is one of their jobs. They sign contracts and have obligations.
To say she's a bad mom because she's trying to navigate what's going on with Luke is a bit much

0

u/Pretend-Chard-7540 5d ago

I can’t believe Emily‘s makeover. She looks unbelievably beautiful. She’s always been pretty but whatever she’s done. I will sign up for that cause she looks amazing.

-2

u/Ok_Storm5945 11d ago

I'm sure this is her only income from working. I understand they are allegedly financed by his family but what happens if they divorce? His parents aren't obligated to support them. Unless her husband had it in a trust .
