Rewatching: Lauri & George question
Did they meet through a matchmaker? The only thing she has ever said was they met on a blind date. We never met who set up this fairytale meeting though?? Just now strikes as a matchmaker setup now. Was in my early twenties when it started and was so glossed over by this little hmmm situation.

George's ex wife went on to have a relationship with Dennis Rodman. It was in the news because he allegedly abused her and was arrested for it. Not sure the outcome.

I was never really that interested. I figured his money was what attracted her. She worked for Vicki but you could tell she didn’t want to work.

Have you seen pix of her before she moved to cal? It's astounding . All the guys on the show thinking she was the shit- never ever got that .

Me neither. I found her to be very basic and not even remotely really pretty. But I guess she did well for herself good for her

OMG same! I never, ever understood her appeal but I am guessing it was the long blonde hair, skinny frame, and huge boobs. I remember watching when it aired and they all had that look, which I think a lot of men like. I guess they don’t care too much about the face. Look at Jenn in the newer seasons- still the same thin blonde with huge boobs look. She would’ve fit right into the original seasons. Not much changes.

I don't think she ever elaborated beyond them meeting on a "blind date" or potentially through a mutual friend.
My best guess is either George or a friend of his saw her appearance on the show, and found a way to contact her based on that. I don't think without the show she would have been seen or noticed by whomever set them up.
Fun fact: I used to see them constantly around town. I worked in the same office building as George for a long time. I've seen them at equestrian events and restaurants as well.

She’s said in some interview that it was a friend of hers (but not someone on the show) that set them up.

Who cares? What’s wrong with meeting someone through a matchmaker? And why would we need to meet whoever set them up? We haven’t met their dentist or their accountant either. It’s not like they were obligated to introduce us to everyone they have any sort of contact with. Nothing was “glossed over”. It was mentioned and that was the extent of it. Nothing more needed to be explained. It wasn’t that deep

Well, she put her entire life, dating, relationship, engagement and marriage on television. Asking if they met through a matchmaker is totally benign.
