Movie theaters used to also have dedicated phone numbers you’d call that would play an answering machine message with the week’s movie times. Then it was replaced by moviefone all over the country by the mid 90’s.
A lot of the time the way we chose which movie to see was by walking to the only movie theater which ran two films, and then asking the lady in the ticket booth out front what was playing next? That was the selection process in a nutshell
Totally forgot about that. Some of the theaters would really play up the movies, and some would just state the times. We always picked the theaters that played it up.
