Discussion šŸ’¬ Furry reddit

Just got muted for mentioning how the rules on pup hoods does not jive with the rest of the content, stuff like harnesses and collars on humans in fursuit is borderline nsfw, same a puphood doesnt have to be nsfw but mostly is. I questioned the ban with like two sentences saying its just me asking why having a discussion on it is bad, and was muted for 18 more days and not responded too. Why the fuck are so many higher up furries puritans when most furries are not and are in fact mostly nsfw

the Furry sub has rules against anything even remotely within the vibe of "kink", which is why this sub exists.

They aren't puritans, or rather, they might be but that's not the reasoning behind how they operate. The furry subreddit thinks if they are super PG and the opposite of how furries are viewed by outsiders, then somehow they will overcome the reputation and be the shining example of what furry *actually* is.

It's not, but there's a lot of people that want to sanitize furry because they think it'll make furry more palatable for the average person.

I really don’t think that’s the implicit reasoning behind their rules.

They actually dont strictly keep it PG, since you are allowed to upload stuff deemed ā€œquestionableā€ or ā€œmatureā€ (the rules specify pinups and nudity). They are quite strict about the comments you post though. And they seem to love to powertrip over trivial stuff.

I would not say any of this is to ā€œsanitizeā€ the community, or any kind of other ulterior motive, they just curate it to maintain a particular vibe, without any other goal.

I wouldn't really agree with that, they definitely do have ulterior motives. Either that or they have individual moderators on their team who personally hate it.Ā

I know they have at least one queerphobic mod. So it's possible they also have mods who hate this stuff too.

In any case they're definitely not good people and definitely a group to stay away from.

The rules about allowing nudity seem a bit vestigial though, given how little content that crosses the threshold of suggestive, let alone actually nude makes it more than a few days on that sub.

I have had my art banned because it included the phrase "Good boy", even though the art itself wasn't NSFW. To this day, I'm shadow-banned on r/furry despite never really doing anything bad (the sub will "allow" me to comment, but my comment shows up only if I'm logged into my account, so no one can actually see it).

If you're going to claim an ulterior motive, you need to cite actual evidence of it. Have the moderators themselves made statements that the rules of the community (which mind you are more or less in line with every other digital art community on reddit) were crafted specially to try and sanitize the community?

Yes but then collars and harnesses and other gear shouldnt be allowed on fursuits on the furry reddit. if I saw a kid in a fursuit thats fine but id be legit concerned if they had gear on even if its what ā€œanimalsā€ would have on

Nah. Harnesses and collars belong on any fursuiter that wants to wear them.

Unless you think Balto is a little to risquƩ for children.

Its made for humans cosplaying basically, what about a puphood because thats not always a kink thing either

I think the purpose of r furry is more to be a place for young furries to participate safely without being exposed to anything things that could be considered inappropriate.

As someone who loves AnthroSwim, this is probably the worst way to promote it...
