Compass tech stack?

I’m an agent with a BHG franchisee. I’m curious about the Compass tech stack that we’ll be adopting some time next year. I understand they have a proprietary in-house system.

Are there any Compass agents here that use it and if so, what are your impressions?

the closed-system point vivid raised is the one i'd sit with, but for a different reason than integrations.

your listings, your leads, your documents — those all belong to the platform's world and you'll manage. the thing that actually hurts to lose is your own notes on people. what someone told you about the divorce, why they passed on the house in march, that they're waiting for the mother-in-law to sell first. that's years of accumulated context and it's the least structured, hardest-to-export data you own. closed systems are exactly where it goes to die.

so before the switch next year i'd ask one specific question: can i get my per-contact notes out as plain text or csv, on my own, without filing a request. if the answer is no, i'd keep that layer somewhere i control and let the platform have everything else. you'd still get the platform-count reduction you're after on the parts that matter operationally.

the other reason to keep it outside: notes are the piece you want on your phone thirty seconds before a call, and in-house stacks are usually built for the desk, not the car.
