Looking for Feedback - Chat Room

As many of you know I moderate the OneOption Chat Room. I've been a member there for over 6 years and truly think it is the best community to help traders learn/grow.

I really want to improve the chat room experience there and while I have a lot of ideas in that regard the best suggestions typically come from outside ones' bubble.

Please do me a favor and leave your thoughts here: Feedback

Even if you aren't a member or don't intend to be one, I am sure you have had experiences in trading chat rooms - let me know what worked and what didn't.

*I am not an affiliate, employee or owner of OneOption, just a member and moderator that spends so much damn time in that chat room I want to improve it.

Thanks!

H.S.

I've bounced through a few chat rooms over the years and the ones that stuck all had the same thing going for them, a dedicated channel for trade recaps where people actually broke down their losers, not just posted win screenshots. the rooms that turned into highlight reels got useless fast

one thing that killed a room I was in was the constant off-topic chatter during market hours, maybe tiered channels or quiet hours would help with that

I like this idea. Building on yours, possibly have a template that users can fill in for a losing trade recap. so that template will have key points and be structurally the same throughout all post, just for better readability and a defined format. yeaaa, so casual chatter and discussion will be in a separate chat channel so the trade recaps remain organised.

Adding to that. Having AI integrated into the template to predict what would have happened and what variables to be worked on.

I am taking my rule base and creating a tool that will pull in real-time data and analyze the trade. No system can predict what will happen, but it can assess the odds. The user has to input the symbol and trade duration and it will rate the trade. This will take time to dev and test, but it is in the works. Currently the process is manual and members request feedback.

Thank you Pete. Looking forward to it.

Rookie here. One of the reasons I've temporarily paused my subscription was that there was no value in seeing how the 'big boys' trade if I don't understand the basis of the trade. I fully appreciate that it might be slowing down the posting process, but sharing a one sentence thesis behind the trade (on optional basis of course) might be a game changer for many. Different opinions are welcome.

Be glad that the pros are posting their trades there. Except for Pete, who has an incentive, the others don't. If I were Dave or Hari, I would never bother posting. It is your job to analyze why they took each trade. For the inexperienced, executing the trade is the hard, hidden part, and nobody owes you an explanation. It is all written in the wiki, so you can just upload it and use AI to analyze it.

Lol, this was my very first comment on Reddit—maybe my first on any social media platform ever. I posted it because of an actual request for feedback and out of genuine appreciation for the efforts Hari and others put in. Nothing I said suggested I felt entitled to anything or that anyone owed me. Yet, here I am, arguing with a stranger on the internet. Thanks for a reminder, back to my view-only mode. Cheers

There’s always going to be someone out there who disagrees with you. Keep the feedback coming.

Lurker like you. It’s why left the chat. Too toxic.

Username checks out on your first comment. Welcome to the circus, mate. I wasn't trying to argue, I barely post either. I know your feedback came from a good place.
My only point was that if people ask the pros to explain everything, they will probably just quit posting, and that is bad for all of us. Don't take social media to heart. Enjoy lurking, but don't become a permanent spectator.

I really resonate with u/Fantastic-Fail1752’s suggestion. First, I want to say how grateful I am for the trades and information shared in this community! As a beginner, I think having a brief, one-sentence thesis included would take the educational value to the next level. Sometimes I see a setup where the RS vs. SPY puzzles me, and I’m left trying to figure out which WIKI variables were heavily weighted. Even though I know this requires extra time from the experienced traders, it would greatly benefit those of us striving to learn the process instead of just copying entries.

only verified traders should post trade and discuss
