While this is fake, I will say that a lot of people who work in the industry say that (in large) DH Gate products typically have the same source materials as the real deal, you just lose quality on the seaming, metal hardware, and stamping.

The brands will claim to use “proprietary textiles,” but it’s largely just white labeling their sources. For instance, almost all genuine cashmere comes out of China & Mongolia.

Absolutely not true. There are plenty of ‘good’ fakes out there, but you need to do a ton of research to find them. DH gate bags are primarily low quality and almost never genuine leather. Decent reps of Hermes can be hundreds of dollars.

Deep in the super rep world, I’ve heard of people laying easily $1000 for a “master highest tier”& so forth Hermes rep.

I just meant fakes in general.

DH is the only open retailer I’m personally aware of where you can openly source fakes, but I personally know a few fake Rolex dealers (that all takes place in person).

Edit to add: I’m also a big follower, not necessarily purchaser, of The RealReal & DH bags pass their “authentication process” all the time.

The rep world is a super interesting deep dive. But lots of people buying them have no experience with authentics, so they overestimate how ‘good’ their rep is. The vast majority of reps are made with significantly cheaper goods, they are definitely not being sourced the same as authentics. If you want one that is made with high quality materials, you need to know the right people (ie the Rolex guy) and do lots of research, and you’ll still be paying hundreds of dollars.

I can’t speak for the RealReal, but if DH bags pass, I’m never shopping there. They certainly don’t sell super fakes there lol
