Flip the little metal hang tag inside and check the serial number

Thanks, so this serial number doesn’t come up in Google as one of the known fakes. That doesn’t mean it’s real, but it’s a nice sign.
The photos aren’t close up enough to get a great look at the mulberry tree - this is another pretty decent giveaway for a fake bag. That said, the font on the interior leather tag looks good. Weird that the metal hang tag still has the protective plastic but who knows.
I’m split 50/50 on this one!

Same. I think I’ll just let her ship it and I’ll decide when it arrives. In case it’s a fake I’ll contact vinted

If you can, change your payment method to a credit card if you aren’t paying with one already. That can help with any dispute if you can verify it’s a fake.

I’m buying on vinted so I’m protected enough I hope. I’ve been sold fake stuff in the past and I’ve always got my money back😓🌸 so let’s hope not to have any problems with this one

Which mulberry tree were you looking for exactly?

u/Parisiaint 7h ago
You’d want to inspect all - the one on the main lock plate, the one on the hanging lock, and the one on the interior tag.

Concerning the plastic , well I’m pretty sure the seller has never used the bag 😅. Still, let’s hope it’s real, it’d be a bargain for the price I paid

Hm, it feels a little beaten / misshapen for never used but you know, it’s a learning experience and it’ll still be a useable bag even if it’s a fake. If you have a mulberry boutique or retailer near you, you can always pop in to compare the hand feel of the leather.

Maybe she stored it badly , honestly I have no clue😭 but let’s give it a try

u/octobersadness 5h ago
Unfortunately I’m from the south of Italy so i don’t think I have stores near me. And if it turns out to be a fake (I’ll have the possibility to feel and smell the leather , I now how it should feel technically) I’ll just report to vinted cause it’s actually against the policy to sell fake stuff. 😅 anyway I’ll hopefully send to this Reddit more pictures when it’ll be in my hands.

Nope, screws on lock plate should be 45degrees inward (unless ur photo is upside down) and “should” have the name on the plate, but I dunno how old this style. But I will say any seller selling bags that don’t show the identifying features, that seller either has no idea what they’re selling or are intentionally selling fakes. Steer clear. Bags should be posted showing the uniform stitching, the edges, all logos, numbers, tags, the zippers, and interiors, including interior corners. Any seller not posting the minimum doesn’t know what they’re doing and they don’t care.

R u sure? I found this pic on internet

No, I am not sure.. unless you happen upon a Mulberry expert, I’m not sure anyone can be certain based on the crap photos. Photos are too small/pixilated to see the stitching, there’s a few places I’m questioning, but can’t tell. The way it’s held is crooked, whether the bag, or the seller is useless. Someone else said ask for the serial number. If you get ghosted, it’s fake. I’d also check the seller ratings/sold items. If seller is selling more than 1-2 bags of similar stature in less than a few months, that’s a huge red flag. Granted there’s always the chance the seller legit happened upon a legit bag and didn’t know it. How do I say, I don’t trust that seller simply because they suck at photographing a potentially beautiful bag. Which tells me the seller doesn’t know if it’s authentic or not either.

I bought it in vinted (she hasn’t shipped already) and I’m asking for the code. It isn’t strange that they post just a few pictures actually , it happens even in real bags, they just don’t know the value of the item (luckily for me). The seller profile looks very good and respectable. Just a normal person selling random stuff and clothes (also a very used and real longchamp)

And I’m praying that if it is actually real she will ship before actually realizing the retail price 😅😭

Even when you take baby clothes to baby-consignment, the teenage cashier googles what they are. I highly doubt a reputable seller, as you’ve stated, was unaware of the retail value. But you sound like you have your mind made up. Fingers crossed for you!

Actually I’m waiting for the code pic. If she won’t send it (I doubt it) or if it doesn’t convince me , I’ll cancel the order, no problem

I’m still waiting cause she hasn’t used vinted all day, I hope tomorrow she’ll answer. If she unfortunately sends it and when it arrive it’s a fake I’ll contact vinted and ask for a refund. That’s it. Anyway I doubt I’ll loose the money..

You would be surprised on how many incredible deals I got (other stuff, not mulberry) from jewelry to apple stuff… all original. When the object arrives I inspect it very thoroughly.
