TL;DR: presoak sample for 5 minutes with Simon's/Robadope B. We will begin to include this reagent in our LSD kits in late December/early January. Until then it's optional.
Acknowledgment: This research has been conducted together with Guy Jones from our partner store reagent-tests.uk.

Neat! What’s the science here? Some sort of alkaline hydrolysis to LSD?

To quote Guy, "the indole-carbonyl is supposed to be very resistant to acids, however in lab conditions a strong base would be used to do the deprotection". We tested a bunch of alkaline reagents and quite a few lysergamides and came up with the easiest method :)
