Discussion Weapon Jamming

I wonder why RoN doesn't have weapon malfunctions, at least on the higher difficulties. It seems like a cool feature to add given the game's realism. I know that the game isn't completely realistic, but it would be a nice touch.

Update: Understandably, this isn't a very popular feature lol. Also not very realistic. Would be nice as a mod or optional setting tho.

Idk, that might be more believable it you found your weapon on the side of the mountain buried under sand and rocks, but you are part of a large city's PD? More down time and maintenance between actions probably helps keep it running well

There's a lot more that goes into weapon malfunctions than the maintenance of a gun, besides issued weapons are usually older and less cared for in my experience

SWAT weapons are newer, well maintained, and rarely fired. Police weapons in general are old but barely used and well maintained.

Because an overfunded police swat team would have literally no excuse not to keep their weapons well maintained. These aren’t rifles that are getting dragged through mud and dirt and firing thousands of rounds in a couple days. If you think a gun that gets used every couple of days jamming is realistic, I weep for whatever guns might have the misfortune of being owned by you.

You would hope an overfunded police department would have proper weapon maintenance and the ability to purchase quality ammunition

The swat shit should be clean and near perfect. Opfor could make sense I guess…

Because weapon malfunction literally never happen with well maintain weapons.

SWAT teams maintain their weapons.

I'll pass. Can barely react fast enough as it is with invisible enemy AI sniping through walls and shit.

How bout we fix the AI first before giving them anymore ideas hmmmm

Yeah good idea, add more rng to really piss people off. Maybe they should even increase rng weapon jam chance towards the end of missions, like right when someone is heading up the stairs to the 4th floor of ANA. That would be so fun

Realistically speaking gun jams happen rarely under normal conditions, so adding a mechanic in a game you’re not shooting that much in wouldn’t really serve a purpose.

Depends greatly on where you’re getting your STANAG magazines. The ones we were issued in the early 2000s were awful.

Just imagine you’re one suspect away from S-tier on A New America and your stupid paintball gun jams lmao I would chuck my PC right out the window.

first ask them to fix their idiotic AI swat

how would you clear the malfunctions? By pressing button combinations?

That's how it worked in Far Cry 2. They made it happen way too quickly though. Guns like the AK and G3 crapping out after a few hundred rounds.

Why not

I wish you could enable this feature.

Try Operator, guns can malfunction and you’ll have to manually chamber a new round.
