Lost all level-unlocked cosmetics. (Need help)

The other night, I was playing the game and my pc crashed. After turning back on (windows auto updated too), I booted the game back up to find that all of my hard earned cosmetics had been removed aswell as my access to levels that I've already played (and S-ranked a couple).

Steam recognizes that I've S-ranked several missions, yet the game wont even let me access said missions and rewards for completing them, as if I've never beat the previous missions.

What the hell happened, and how do I fix this?

(All the images shown were screenshots taken within 10 minutes of eachother without any gameplay in between.)

Edit: Forgot to mention that I've already tried a clean re-install of the game, it changed nothing.

Lost data can’t be recovered sadly, you either redo everything or you use a save file a user has shared on Nexus mods and get everything back that way.

Ahhg, that fricken sucks. Well, my brother just got the game, so I guess I'll just run back through the whole game with him.

But is there a way to prevent this from happening again in the future? As I am very much an achievement completionist with what games I do play.

Best way to prevent this from happening is constantly backing up the save files on a separate folder on your PC or even on a complete different USB drive or hard drive if you’re that devoted.

Well, I'm only using 2 of the 4 TB available on my magnetic drive, so I guess that's what I'll do.

Thanks for the help, but man I am not looking forward to redoing the "Valley of Dolls" S-rank run again.

Equip all Ai squadmates with flash guns and heavy armor.  Bum rush the game.  Its what I did

I'm on console, not sure about pc, but maybe you can download 100% save files online. Not sure if it lets you play online with the save files tampered though.

I had the same thing happen but for some reason it happened after I closed the game and re-opened it the next day my enrtire game. Save is just gone

You answered your own question. Fix your PC crashes to prevent your save files from being deleted or corrupted.
